I don't think Shristi is gonna do anything great for Nepal but I shouldn't speak so soon though. Who knows, she might be the next Anuradha Koirala. What I am guessing is that she will take her Miss Nepal 2012 tag back to UK and use it to further her modeling career. I don't condemn her for that. A girl's gotta be smart.

Overall, it is not a fair win but I gotta say she is HOT.

What does publicity have anything to do with who wins the pageant?
I thought the winner was decided by judges not American-Idol like polls.

She got crowned a day or two ago and you are already speculating she might not do anything for Nepal. If you can predict events so well and so accurately, can you recommend me some stocks during trading hours that are going to soar after the next opening bell so that I can share a 50% cut of the profit with you everytime? After she wins she is not required to do much more than the contract or the guidelines. If she goes above and beyond, she might experience good karma afterwards.

Just because the contestant superficially looks more attractive than the others cannot guarantee a win unless there is serious nepotisem involved or I am missing a key information. There have been times when even the venerable Aishwarya Rai could not win every pageant.

I am not related, in any way, to the winner but who knows what the future might hold unlike you, who seem to know the future.

who cares ??? Miss Nepal comes and goes every year .....well this is Nepal and without somesort of controversy there won't be any event and have never been.

I am not sure what violet is basing her claim on, but if Shristi had lost this one I'd have said this one is rigged. I didn't see who else could beat her.

Everything. Ever heard of the term "any publicity is good publicity". Yes, the judges decide the winner but with all that publicity she got before the paegant, you honestly dont think there were any favoritism involved especially when it concerned a person with a good track record. I feel that this one contestant skewed the whole pageant in a way that the personality and talent of the other contestants were overshadowed because of her popularity and that everyones' attention was focused on her. The winner was really predestined before the pageant even started and this is what I find unfair. But what's fair in Nepal.

And you are right, even Aishwarya Rai could not win every pageant, she didn't win Miss India 1994. Sushmita Sen did.
