A funny thing that I remember now: There used to be Babita Basnet in our class. I was told she (like me) didn't do her SLC from there. Anyway, guys used to say GBS stands for Girls haruma Babita> nai Sundari. There were several others, too. Most of them sexually hilarious. :D :)

I must be few years senior to you slackdemic. It is interesting that you wrote about Babita basnet.I donot know her personally but I remember her thought I was senior to her as you may know that guys had a hostel to each grade and we girls used to be cramped in a single hostel.Later on two. I remember that when she left school Mrs Barcley had a big meeting at girls' hostel and explained us what was going on. It is funny that you mentioned her of all the girls.

Oh, Helina! I just recall few memories, but as a matter of fact, I left GBS before Babita Basnet did. After several years, I was told that she also left GBS before SLC. BTW, which batch were you yourself? I think girls used to be in Hostel#9 then, right? Ratamakai, like I wrote before, Babita never did SLC from GBS.

Thanks for the info, Rockend. Babita Basnet is becoming omnipotent again. :P Not that it matters, but let me clarify what I meant: Babita Basnet and I (and all people I mentioned above) were in the same batch. I left GBS when I was in 7th grade. Babita left after some years I did...I don't know when, but before SLC.

Rockend, thanks for the information. It's great to see that GBS is doing better (it was already doing good before) in Board exams. Until '90, there used to be some fails every year. It was at that time the school changed its policy from 'getting to board list' to '100% pass'. And over the years, this policy did indeed succeed; by '91, it was already a reality. I do not know of anyone who has failed in SLC after that year (except for '94 when one guy was restricted/failed??? for bringing calculator into the exam hall). And, then this policy was 'elevated' to '100% first division'. We didnt achieve this in our batch, but great to see it turn into reality. I hope in the years to come, everyone will get this newly introduced level called 'distinction'. The story of +2 is somewhat similar too. We were the first batch to get 100% pass in both 11 and 12 with a 97% first division in aggregate. I hope the guys are doing even better now.

Nepalean dai, Those are unwritten policies. Teachers like Barclay, Bamdev and Chandy always used to talk about them.
