Welll, this marriage is sth different I guess. Ego, regret, compromise and so many other strong emotions resulted in this alliance I believe.So far I know her grandmother( maternal) got married in a homemade cotton saree to then king of Gwalior.And here her granddaughter is getting married in a saree worth nine lakhs.
Okay, I don't have that much resentment for this wedding coz they are the Royalities(Maternal side)..They have been doing that from centuries...so no big fuss.. I never consider Ranas as Royalties, for me they are mere Chettries. When PSJBR got married I heard that he got one crore just in Cash....So one can imagine how much she brought with her ( Devyani's mother) with her ...

Cleo - Yeah I hear you. One thing caught my eye : you said "I don't have that much resentment for this wedding coz they are the Royalities" . Can you elaborate on that? I hope you don't mean it is okay for Royalties to spend lavishly but when others do it, then that is a problem. That would be double standards right?

Okay, Cappy. Royalities. I have different definition for that. Mittal and others....they are selfmade man. They have no roots at all. They created their own empire.They are just ordinary people and the general mass can relate to them. An ordinary individual can identify with them. So when they do sth of that sort, the whole mass follows them. So it really has negative impact I guess.

Now,coming back to Royalties. People always take them as Royalties and they never try to bring what they do inside their home. It is like looking at the stars at night and admiring them. They just say WOW but then in the back of their minds they know that they are the ROYALTIES and they are supposed to do that.

So that is it. I am just talking about the different messages sent to the society from the same action of these two group of people and how they (society) react to it. That is Cappy.Yeah, I do have double standards. That is why I am Cleopatra.:P

it's not ONLY about how neatly and effectively one can put forth his/her opinion, it's ALSO about making it sure in your mind, you have a genuine point and confidence to believe in what you actually believe in ....else it's not worthwhile to open the topic for discussion in the first place as it mostly takes you nowhere and will only end up giving wrong impression to your otherwise sweet and innocent personality. :-)

also, this thread is more for fun within ourselves than discussing people who are not even a genuine public figure. i believe that pic was privy and not meant for viewing by public... just wanted to make sure if you asked for their consent before posting that pic in here... :D
