Goodness gracious - it is hard to keep track of things here :) Great numbers. Not sure if this one has already been played but this song brings back memories of times gone by:
Dil ke Arman (Nikkah 1982)
Dil ke armaan aansuon mein beh gaye
Dil ke armaan aansuon mein beh gaye -2 Hum wafa karke bhi tanha reh gaye Dil ke armaan aansuon mein beh gaye
Zindagi ek pyaas bankar reh gayi -2 Pyar ke kisse adhoore reh gaye -2 Hum wafa karke bhi tanha reh gaye Dil ke armaan aansuon mein beh gaye
Shayad unka aakhri ho yeh sitam -2 Har sitam yeh sochkar hum seh gaye -2 Hum wafa karke bhi tanha reh gaye Dil ke armaan aansuon mein beh gaye
Khudko bhi humne mita daala magar Faasle jo darmiyaan the reh gaye -2 Hum wafa karke bhi tanha reh gaye Dil ke armaan aansuon mein beh gaye
Lemony limca..i just love your choice. the other day u were talking about "chalo ekbaar phir se" ....i just loveeeeeeeee that song.....that has one of the most unconventional lyrics of romance...i could not find the original....tara here it is, not so good one, but the same song nevertheless....
simplegal, i am in awe with your knowledge on these classics. hats off and yah hands down.....:P
and with this song i would like to wrap up my session for today. dunno if this falls in the same coterie of classics that you guys are putting up here but this is easily one of my favorites. AB's versatility as an actor is so evident in it. this is one of the best compliments a wife can get, innit? :P
dedicated to all kali, gori, nepti, moti, patali, chhoti and lambu wives out there hahaha :P
just when i was about to go to bed, i saw cappy's post!!!! :D
thanks for the song cappy da killer. my mom's favorite that one is. she would be happy with that :D...matter of fact i came to know that Nikaah is moms' favorite movies for some reasons....:P
Nice song there captain!! My mom used to play it ever so often back home :( - Hey bhow bhow, That song my Mahendra Kapoor happens to be one of my fav songs too!! I did get hold of the one that you have put up but then the quality of the video just doesnt didnt seem to do any justice whatsoever to the kind of song it is...so i made a request in this very thread for the song (better quality) but then i think its just not available in video online. Thanks a lot for trying!! :)
That's exactly what I feel when I listen to old gems .....a rush of adrenalin!
Several people have commended my knowledge of old gems .... I don't claim to be a hindi song buff, but rather a lover of the evergreen melodies. They've buoyed me when I sank in utter despair, given wings to life's small joys, held me close like a mother holds her child when i needed that warmth of affection in a far away land like the US where mom wasn't always around to comfort me, and helped me get up and walk on when i fell on life's brutal stones numerous times .....in essense, they have given me life.
Loote, Lemon - Believe it or not, it's my mom's favorite too! (And I think someone else had mentioned it was their mom's favorite too) A good mother's day song, eh?
Btw, there was this other song from Nikaah - Faza Bhi Hai Jawan - I've noticed most people who like Dil Ke arman also like this one. Unfortunately, could not find it on You tube or Google - if anyone can find the audio or video version, please post.
Another number from Pakeezah, Kamal Amrohi did his best, with chandelier heavy ceilings, billowing silk drapes, grandoise persian rugs and fountain adorned "kotha", but was it was fervent emotional histrionics of Meena Kumari, Ashok Kumar, Raj kumar and Meena Kumari again, that stole the show. As a kid I was indifferent to the turbulent saga of a "kothewali", more caught in the splendor of the heavy set. It took me a while to realize what I'd missed
