ECUADOR 0-2 GERMANY A superb chipped pass from Ballack picks out KLOSE in the area. He uses his knee to take it round Mora before coolly slotting the ball home.

England vs Sweden . Wayne Rooney v Olof Mellberg All eyes will be on Rooney in Cologne as the England striker bids to put all the hype about his injury behind him and get on with what he does best – terrorising opposition defenders. He looked predictably rusty against Trinidad & Tobago, but hopefully that run-out and some intensive training will have sharpened him up. Aston Villa’s Mellberg is the rock at the heart of the Sweden defence and his speed will help him against Rooney. Mellberg was involved in a training ground bust-up with Freddie Ljungberg last week, but don’t expect that to put him off. John Terry v Henrik Larsson Terry has had yet another outstanding season for Chelsea and looks to be carrying that form with him in the World Cup. Rated by many observers as the best centre-half in the world, he'll need to be right on top of his game against Sweden's Larsson. The former Celtic marksman is one of the classiest strikers around. He's still a huge influence on a game as seen after his substitute appearance in the Champions League final, which swung the tie in Barcelona's favour as they saw off Arsen David Beckham v Freddie Ljungberg Another key clash between two players who know each other well from the Premiership. It'll be interesting to see how England use Beckham after he dropped into a deeper position against Trinidad & Tobago. The England skipper will be looking to push Ljungberg back while still keeping tabs on the Arsenal man. Ljungberg is a talismanic figure for Sweden and most of their attacking play moves through him. If England can keep him pushed back in his own half they'll certainly limit Sweden's attacking options. Frank Lampard v Kim Kallstrom It's a huge game for Lampard against the Swedes as he gets a chance to play the more natural role he inhabits for Chelsea in the absence of usual England midfield partner Steven Gerrard. The Chelsea man got into some good positions against Trinidad & Tobago but failed to take advantage – England will need more from him tonight. Kallstrom looks like he'll provide a real test of England's midfield strength as the 23-year-old has added some much-needed pace and urgency to Sweden's midfield. His long-range shooting from outside the area will also be something England need to watch. Michael Owen v Tobias Linderoth The perceived wisdom says Sven-Goran Eriksson will drop the in-form Peter Crouch in favour of the more experienced Owen for Sweden. It's a case of now or never for the Newcastle striker as he looks to put a season of injury and a disappointing start to the World Cup behind him. Another performance like those against Paraguay and Trinidad & Tobago could see him lose his place so expect Owen to step it up tonight. Linderoth plays the holding role just in front of the back four for Sweden and will be the man who tries to break down any England attacks. His performance will be vital for the Swedes as he'll be tasked with not only keeping an eye on Owen's runs, but also Rooney dropping deep.
