A man is walking down a road and he comes to a fork in the road. There are 2 ways to go.
One road will lead to safety and the other road will lead to death. Now there are 2 guards
waiting there. One of them is a truth teller, the other is a liar. The man cant tell which
is which. But he gets to ask one question to find the door to safety.

Which question is that?

I realised the contradicton of my earlier answer as soon as i posted it. hehe...

Now one of the statments he made is correct, not all of them as he only tells the truth once a week.

So, he has to tell the truth one of these days, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Friday. OTherwise he will be telling 2 truths (of lying). So one of these 2 statments is right. So it is not a Thursday, Saturday or Sunday. (He is lying). It is some other day.

I am stuck here at the moment hehe.

It could not be a Friday that day he lied about the days, because a day before would be Thursday when he made the statement "i lie on mondays and tuesday" and Thursday is not an option.

So take out Friday....we have Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. :) (Hope i am getting there)

So technically Monday he is saying "i lie on monday and on tuesdays"

Tuesday he saying " today is either thursday, saturday or sunday" (which is a lie)

And on wednesday he is saying " i lie on wednesday and friday"

So take out Tuesday, we have monday and wednesday.

slackdemic is right, its Tuesday, but seems he doesn't know how.

Another one: There is only one word in the English language with three double letters in a row. WHat is it
 ?(no googling).

2) there is a dead man in the center of a field. He carried with him an unopened package. As he neared the center of the field, he knew he was going to die. How did he know he was going to die?

1)bookkeeper

2)The unopened package is a parachute, so he will also die if his parachute does not open.

A man was speeding at 100km an hour and his car collided with a black vehicle. The man was a little drunk also. The police were called in. The police found a dead man inside the black vehicle, other than that there were no other injuries. But surprisingly, there were no charges for manslaughter. How come?.

Freedom2012,
Does not look like anyone has come up with the correct question the guy has to ask or asked. I know the answer to this riddle. If you don't mind me making it public I will do it.
One minor correction in your riddle: Your question to the sajhaites should have been:
What was that special question the guy asked and got out safely?

Hint: This is a "logic" based riddle if anyone wants to take on it.

Just checked Sajha and saw this message: "slackdemic is right, its Tuesday, but seems he doesn't know how."

There are only 7 days in a week; so one of them had to be right, right? silly
