Okay here is the deal. I am tooo tired of seeing photos and getting requests to joing groups claiming that buddha was born in nepal/that mt. everest is in nepal etc etc. So I started the following page for people who think alike.
Why should we care if Siddartha Gautam was born in nepal or bahamas? Why does it matter? Moreover, when he was born there was no Nepal or India. I think we need to let go of this inferiority complex now. I mean, have you seen/herad people of palestine go head over heels to claim that Jesus was born there??
Also, if we really care that much about Buddha, shouldn't we follow his teachings? Didn't he tell his followers to let go of their egos??
anyways here is a facebook page dedicated to not hanging on to buddha/mt everest/ Gurkha soldiers for our identities. (last but not the least, why would anyone be proud of the Gurkha/Gorkha soldiers?? all they did was invade and kill other people.)
Peace

I agree with alias_ and metta.
gorikopoi commet above--------
"I agree with u. I don't give a damn about Buddha or Shiva. There are many mountains better than Himalayas in Switzerland n USA. So who cares about Mount Everest. Has anyone heard Americans bragging about Yellow Stone National Park? Nah but its so beautiful n amazing. Alaska alone is so gorgeous compare to Nepal. Nepali ignorant hicks think they come from one of the most beautiful country in the world when Nepal has litters everywhere n its a slum country. I laugh when Nepalese put red tikas n celebrate Dashain in USA. "
what you guys think about his comment?

Earth is round, it's our home, and we are it's people. New age thinking and I'm part of it.
You still stuck with limited mentality, you should be because you belong there. I'm not.
charliesheen, a very thought provoking post. Buddha never said his philosophy is a religion.

@gorikopoi,
Personal choice.There is total freedom where you live and freedom of speech gives you every right to give damn to Shiva or Buddha.I am guessing Shiva and Buddha also don't give a damn about your comment.
I am unaware of the alps of Swiss or any peaks in US but the father of all of those tiny ones is in Nepal,that much I know.
America got lots of things to brag about so Yellow Stone is just in shade or lost in the list.As a capitalist country its main focus is in money and development.If all those crumble,you might be lucky to see them bragging about whatever left.
Beauty is subjective.Some may find Alaska wonderful while others might declare Nepal stunning and you can't compare both at once,they have their own charm in their own place.
If you have any doubt about Nepal being one of the most beautiful country,you might want to google and peruse,you'll find enough evidence to back that claim via articles,books,pictures,people's experience and all.I doubt you can take that all in one single year.
Laughing is good for health and its free.I recommend you to laugh as much as you like but keep it at distance.There are rumours that Nepalis people have started to buy guns in US and those people like to shoot at head.Give respect,take respect and you might be here for a long time.
@BT,
Great insight.If everyone thinks like that ,there would not have been so much of a commotion in anything,anywhere in the world.

Bittertruth just had his arrse kissed by awara ....... I hope he left a hicky....
Why did awara kissed bittertruth's ass? because he thinks BT answer was very insightful .....
Wow wow ...wait a second....
His views above and his views below are contradictory .....
How can one be chanakya and hitler at the same time ?
? I would apply for naturalization without a second thought. That country you are worrying about is in the state of sleep paralysis. You want to do so many things, yet you can't make your move. Law makers are badly influenced by corrupt politicians, and what can you expect in such a country where rules are made as per their benefits? Bribery and exploitation begins the moment you land in that country, TIA personnel treat you differently if you hand them few hundreds than nothing. Anyway, there are ppl who won't talk bad things behind your back, even if your national status change from Nepalese to US.
It was good to read about first Nepalese billionaire in forbes listing, but who would understand how he achieved that,.. selling inverters??, evading taxes?? or through the businesses that he established in other nations? So those using his name as a shield to back their theory of 'opportunity in Nepal' need to zip their mouth for a moment and be realistic. Mostly, its run by money sent through foreign aid and wire transfers made by Nepalese living across the oceans. There is no electricity, rivers are turned to sewage, political instability, tremendous dependance on foreign aids, playground of foreign powers, failing juridical system, astronomical crime rates, I wonder how businesses are running there and for any individual, I dunno but now having lived here in US for quite a while, I believe that place has become simply unbreathable for "many". Various NGO/INGO should be ashamed of not contributing enough to the country rather than leeching on donation/aid, sort of parasites, but few names like 'mahabir pun' are exceptions.
Go for it, why worry about others, when its about your life which you've to live by yourself? "

Masane,thanks for wasting my time .if you ponder deeply,my comments to gorikopoi and bittertruth carry the same thing at core:clearing the differences and supporting the truth.
Every individual is unique so is their level of understanding.While some people might get the gist of what I am saying in a single sentence,otheres like you and gorikopoi may demand a whole book to clear the puzzle.I was acting in a way that makes it easy to the receiving party, to get the message clearly, in their own way and in their own taste.
Am I changeable? of course,all human beings are multiform,its just we stuck with our own self-restricting limits and choose to be the monotonous one,or should I say,we barely fan the flames of our own human potential and forgot to savor the magical dance of life.If a tiger suddenly appears infront of me,I have to be a Warrior without second thinking or it will eat me;if I happen to land in a lifeless dull party,I will act like Elvis;if I am struck by some pretty girl,I will be a Romeo and if I found myself in the gates of school,I am just a Student.
Just showing you some examples of how many surprising avatars one can have in a single life --and that too accurately and genuinely --which many of us will not even experiment.
last but not the least,altering the colour of your passport from green to blue only won't be much of a help if you forgot to correct your mind first.

When Buddha was born, there was no country called Nepal. The country Nepal exists after king prithvi Narayan conquered all 22 or 36 rajyas. Buddha was born in place called kapilvastu whose king was his father. There was no anchal called Lumbini at that time

Ashishme. If you dont know the difference between life and death then you have no right to live. While on the other hand whether buddha was born in nepal india or mars doesnt make a difference in anyones lives except for the fanatic loonies.
