Most of us stay in this country for many years ...but are you all planning to stay here for life ? Same hectic work schedules, submit report to manager every 2 weeks. How long will this continue ? I keep asking this question to myself and never found an answer.
We all seem to enjoy every time we visit Nepal. You don't want to think about your work when you go there and seem to enjoy time with friends/fmaily and food....but you'll be thinking fo that consulate when you go for visa re-stamping. What will happen ? Also think about that Immigration staff at the port of entry.
So, I don't know if it's easy to go back to nepal and start a career there ? I don't really want to stay here for life. I want to spend some time with my family as well. What's this all for ? Why am i doing this ? for what ? Just money !
Ahh....these question come everyday when i am at work.
Mom, Dad getting old everyday..and i am spending my time here in foreign country...Is it really worth it ?

Going back or continue living here is the most difficult decision for the first generation immigrants. This is just not Nepali's problem. This is a problem of immigrants everywhere. I know couple Marwaadis in Nepal who always talked about moving back to India always "after i do this" and they are there till now and they will probably die in Nepal as well.
I just want to point out that many of you probably think that we are missing home because of the instablility, stress, and the difficulty here but i think the issue is deeper than that. None of us initially leave the country with the thought of living in the foreign land forever. We all noticed that the tear filled eyes of our loved ones when we departed the country. We all remember the feeling looking out the plane window as our birthtown became smaller and smaller and finally not seen anymore. So why do we think that we can't go back now. We came from that place, why can;t we fit in anymore? Will it be really difficult to fit in again?
I knew i always wanted to go back then like all immigrant, i had the same thing going on....i wanted to finish school, then i wanted to get some experience, then i wanted to make money, then i realized making money is much easier when you have papers, then i worked for my papers...at the same time Marriage had to be taken care of....then i bought a house, a nice car, and at this time i pretty much have everything that i dreamed to get in this country. A six figure salary, a house, nice car, 8 Years of professional experience, and a citizenship. At this juncture, it feels like there is nothing more to go after and after all of my goals are met, i see no purpose of living here anymore. There is no goal to be met hence no purpose either. I am questioning myself, why am i here? And i dont know the answer, i am not here for the money, as i know i am only making enough to live a american middleclass and may be save 20K per year if i want. But is that it? Do i really have to live here to save 20K per year? Does 20K per year savings offsets where i am from, what i am, who my parents are? who my relatives are? and what my identity is?
I am still looking for answers to my own questions.

SAP Dude,
From what I've heard, there is only one company in Nepal that uses SAP. Just FYI.

I was doing Bachelor in Nepal and when I saw all my frens abroad, i decided to go too, wasted my years. I came to US as I was influenced by hollywood n stories like how Suda Shah came to California and she didn't have money when she landed in airport. She worked two jobs and finished school n landed in Microsoft n has most expensive cars like limousines. At first I loved to work in gas stations and go school. Gas station was fun learning english and meeting new people. At first there were humiliations too as english was bad n some people used to treat me bad. Sometimes it was boring waiting for customers like arkako hali base jasto. Tara weekends was fun. Since i worked around clubs, I used to have strippers n whore as customers. I start seeing them to remove my loneliness. Now i am addicted to sex. Every weekend I have to go n see dem. Finished my school landed job in Microsoft n made 100 grans, but lost my job being sexual at work as I was hitting on my cowokers. Now i have nothing, back to store. Just work 45 hrs n still going strip clubs on weeekends. Now i am so westernized n frustrated. Dhobi ko kukur ghar ko na ghat ko. Like somebody said yeha sukha cha tara santusti chaina. Uta santusti hola tara sukha nahola. No electricity no water to take shower everyday, no white gals to sleep. Yestai cha life. I can barely go to sleep n when I sleep I can't wake up. Getting green card n US citizen don't mean everything, don't waste your young life here, u can be a singer, rapper, athlete, model in Nepal. Don't leave your country.
