KATHMANDU, APR 02 - Former Crown Prince Paras Shah returned to Kathmandu on Thursday after living in Thailand for three years. He arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) along with his well wishers at 1pm today.
The former Crown Prince who was jailed time and again on charges of illegal drug possession had been hospitalised for a long time after he suffered a heart-stroke.
Many supporters of Shah were present at TIA to welcome him.
Shah, notorious for his playboy and reckless lifestyle, had left for Singapore with his wife and three children after Nepal was declared a republic in 2008. After living there briefly, he moved to Bangkok while his family returned to Nepal apparantly after strained relaions with his family.
In 2013, he was admitted to a Bangkok-based Samitivej Hospital for nearly a month after suffering a major heart attack. His father and former King Gyanendra Shah, mother Komal, wife Himani and two of his children had visited him in the hospital.
Shah was once held for destroying property at his rented apartment in central Bangkok in 2013 and was released after he paid the building owner for the damage he had done.
