Who's your next president 2016?

pollcode.com free polls

We've known Hillary for long time, her charity works towards numerous other humanitarian issues etc.
1. She gave and delivered a kickass commencement speech at Wellesley College in 1969.
2. She was one of 27 women who graduated from Yale Law School in 1973, out of a class of 235.
3. She was the only woman on the Nixon impeachment investigation team.
4. She cofounded the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families advocacy group.
5. She broke the mold for first ladies with her speech at the 1995 United Nations Women's Conference in China.
6. She won a Grammy for the audio edition of her book, It Takes a Village.
7. She worked with Ted Kennedy to expand the Children's Health Insurance Program.
8. She won the most votes of any female presidential candidate in history.
9. She set the stage for Obamacare by pushing health care reform in the '90s and during the 2008 campaign.
10. She became the most-traveled U.S. secretary of state ever.
11. She set into motion the first American talks with Iran since the 1979 revolution.

Now who is Bernie Sanders, I don't know, I really don't know and to me he popped up suddenly out of nowhere. If you are partaking in a match, there has to be someone to compete with. I believe any contenders to Hillary are just those out there just for the sake of it(match aka debate). And for someone like me when I saw him suddenly on TV saying that he's getting donation for his campaign not from billionaires but public. People paid standing ovation with round of applause, so? so what's the point? Does that make him saint? But to lot of people that made sense and now he's everyone's' talk of the night. Yes, there are things that make lot of sense to people. The same people who would believe they're getting free Ipad on some fake facebook page of real publication, the same people who follow Trump the maniac, the same fans who would like/share tweets of their drughigh fav singer who claims earth is flat, the same people who resend/retext/reshare religious messages out of fear(do this or curse would happen type), the same people who argues Ron Paul's gold theory must come back in action, the same people who believe and sell all their belongings in the name of judgment day only to turn into homeless next day, seriously I sometimes think how gullible we are to think whatever we hear and see are the truths. Bernie Sanders is another hype to me. Few videos on youtube found me the guy was a big time critique of democratic party itself, and didn't spare Obama policy from criticizing. I am afraid of sweet talkers and often time they're the back stabbers.

In all honesty, I really can't trust this Bernie dude and it seems like how honestly he's saying his things, Hillary is the way to go. Campaigns can't be run without money, however way you get it, you need money. He'll be in billionaire's pocket too if he's to get presidency. Those who think he's not going to be, are just type of people I mentioned in a paragraph above this.

If you are OBAMA supporters, VOTE for Hillary, if you are not VOTE for bernie.

Good Luck.

I'm seeing Hillary Clinton as the next president of the United States of America.

IMO, both Bernie and Hillary are great candidates and they both have the country's best interest at heart. Bernie has assumed this "nice uncle" figure with his rousing speeches promising free college and single payer health plan. But if you actually compare policies to policies, these two candidates are very similar. It just sounds more appealing when the grumpy loud old uncle says "I'll go after the Wall Street, I'll dissolve the big banks, I'll take care of you all." But what is he actually going to do? Raise taxes on the wealthy? Well, Hillary is going to do that too. Seriously, how are their policies different?

At the end of the day, it's all about winning the general election. I think Hillary has a better shot at beating whoever the GOP nominee will be than the socialist Bernie.

@milly so your opinion is better than the polls that we have been recently. Which say Bernie is the only one to defeat trump by high margin.

@ne0, your video, though cute, doesn't really explain how a socialist can win the general election. Anyway, the sixth point in that video is hilarious.

Bernie Sanders has energized young voters with the promise of real change. He has moved Hillary to far left. She is a moderate republican. She used to oppose same sex marriage. After seeing more Americans support same sex marriage, Hillary changed her position. She was the one bragging about TPP, now she opposes it. All the trade deals have allowed corporations to move jobs to poor countries eliminating millions of good paying jobs in US. It took her forever to oppose XL pipeline. She waited and waited and after seeing more Americans opposing the deal, she is now against it. She is just a politician who can manipulate voters.

Hillarys top donors:
Bernie's top donors:
And millions of people like us. Bernie has received more than 2.5 million campaign contribution. His average donation is $27.

@lopchandai,

I wasn't saying my opinion is better than polls. I'm just presenting my views and they could be totally wrong. In my opinion (again, I'm not claiming I'm right), the poll numbers are not very predictive at this point. Well, we will know the polls' predictive value soon (after Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary results are out).

Neo dai, do you remember Ron Paul?
Bernie sounds quite a bit like him, imaginative, to good to be true but unrealistic.

The reason I'm commenting about TYT and undermining his views is because all his claims since 2008 has failed and I've no regards to even look at what he has to say and this one guy comes up to me to show me the video by him to prove his point? There are people talking all kind of stuffs, just coz it's their views don't mean I've to pay attention to it.

I wouldn't even think seriously a guy who says 'I'll crush banks, I'll punish insurance companies and all that lies" that's never gonna happen, believe me. America is a nation built by corporations and anyone who talks about destroying corporations must be either out of mind or it's just a talk of beautiful dream.

Eventually, if he gets to become president, he won't be able to do things that he'd promised. All you guys are tripping coz of the beautiful dream he's telling you.

All am saying is let Hillary continue real legacy of OBAMA.

Bittertruth. if you are here to support corporations that ship jobs to poor countries to increase profit, then I have nothing to say.
BTW, do you even know what Glass-steagall Act is?

Bittu I think Bipop Upreti is missing the following highlighted stuff. Bipop, please be aware that the landing page will only show the last 20 posts on a thread (both in desktop and mobile). You will need to navigate to the other page to see the previous posts.

As far as the topic in question. People who are against something will always be more passionate than people who are for something so continuing further is not going to lead anywhere since it seems like you have made up your mind already, and don't even want to accept the truth such as the CNN moderator's outright bias against Bernie. So I take leave with the following :) It may sound like a rhetoric but so far not many politicians have even dared to confront these big corporations for their role in diminishing the value of human lives in comparision to their profit. Recently Bernie blocked Obama's nominee to FDA on grounds that the person had strong ties to the pharmaceutical industry. These things have gone unchecked for so long that people have begun to accept them as part of life. Such official appointees cannot have such conflict of interests that the lives of people are less important than their profits.

Just having a politician who is bold enough to go after such irregularities in the government which is supposed to protect the people is a breath of fresh air and that's why I support Bernie. It does not matter whether he is successful in his bid to do that, or even if he wins the election or not. The overwhelming support that Bernie has been receiving shows that people understand this anti-democratic practice that is currently in the US politics and that it should be eradicated. It only takes a spark to start a fire. Maybe not this time but as long as the spark is there, there is still hope.

I don't have anything against the other candidates except their history of pleasing the big corporations and benefiting from them, while Bernie has a clean and consistent record of fighting against this lapse in the government. Another big fact is that he voted against Iraq invasion.

"Iraq Death Toll Reaches 500,000 Since Start Of U.S.-Led Invasion, New Study Says. Nearly half a million people have died from war-related causes in Iraq since the US-led invasion in 2003, according to an academic study published in the United States"

Your candidate Hillary says she realized it was wrong of her to vote for Iraq invasion now and you seem to be fine about it enough to allow her to lead the strongest military power in the world. After 500,000 lives lost she changes her rhetorics. I realize it was not only her who voted for it but the fact is that she was part of it.

If you cannot trust a government to establish laws to protect citizens by upholding strict food and drug manufacturing processes, then that's a fundamental fallacy in the government which should be taken more seriously by the voters because that is affecting them and their families every single day, and which has had and will be having serious health concerns in the days to come.

I try not to stereotype but I will do it when I have to...so here I go.

I see a lot of Nepali folks being attracted to Bernie Sanders and his socialist agendas. It must be due to communist influence and ideology that has dominated Nepali politician scene for the last 50 years. So if you grew up idolizing the likes of Stalin, Lenin, Mao, Che Guevara, etc, uncle Bernie is the closet you will ever encounter in your or anyone else's lifetime in mainstream American politics.

As for the Americas that are supporting Bernie, most of them tend to byproduct of "Entitlement Culture", who think they don't have to do anything for their basic survival and existence in the society as it is their human right. Or the educated bunch with degrees fields that is not really needed in such great numbers but are now in such much student in other debt. The idea of equal distribution of wealth or debt forgiveness and other socialist agendas around money is really what drives them to support for Bernie.

There is a massive resistance shown by many media outlets to Bernie's popularity. One of the most obvious reasons is that the owners of the media are the same people that Bernie policies would affect. They will not be able exert the $$$ pressure onto Bernie so that they continue to pay less taxes than a lower income citizen. Many major corporations are currently paying nothing in federal income taxes, and the corporate CEOs in this country often enjoy an effective tax rate that is lower than their secretaries.

Here's an example of a media outlet trying to influence negative opinion about Bernie.

________________

Bernie Sanders was the target of a savage editorial published by The Washington Post‘s Editorial Board this Wednesday, which was entitled “Bernie Sanders’s fiction-filled campaign.”

In the piece, the Post accuses the Vermont senator of “fantastical claims” and the venomous screed ends with a snide blanket condemnation of the millions of American who support his campaign: “It merely proves that many progressives like being told everything they want to hear.”

Pundits and internet commenters reacted to the strongly worded piece with various levels of support or derision. Alternet pointed out that the Post’s owner, Jeff Bezos, is an “arch-libertarian worth $53.2 billion and has a whole host of investments in private health care,” and as such might have a slight bias or vested interest against Bernie’s policies.

However, this Thursday at a Bloomberg Politics event, Bernie Sanders himself had choice words for the Editorial Board for the Post when asked for his comment.

“People are telling us, whether it’s the Washington Post editorial board or anybody else, our ideas are too ambitious — can’t happen. Too bold — really? Well, here’s something which is really bold. In the last 30 years, there has been a massive transfer of wealth from the middle class and working families of this country. The middle class has become poorer and trillions of dollars have been transferred to the top one-tenth of 1 percent… Where was The Washington Post to express concern that the middle class was shrinking? Where was The Washington Post talking about this radical transformation of America?”

Sanders continued his salvo, fact-checking their record. “Check out where all the geniuses on the editorial page were with regard to the invasion of Iraq,” Sanders said.

In fact, the Nation reported in 2014 that the Washington Post published more than 140 stories promoting the Iraq War on its front page in the months before the invasion, and the paper received numerous other criticisms for their reporting.

Bernie Sanders famously voted against the Iraq War, contrary to the vast majority of Congress at the time, including Democratic frontrunner and then-Senator Hillary Clinton.
