Dear Nation Loving Nepalese, I have heard enough crying of Anti, hope you all have too! I just finished watching King's interview following his trip to different parts of Nepal. I have found him to have a much greater understanding of Nepal and Nepali people's needs than any other so called "democratic leaders" of our country. I was wondering, if anyone would be interested to welcome our King in NY. Just like when people in Germany didn't protest against the Nazis, they were considered pro-nazis. Our silence is not our weakness, but actions do speak louder than words. Those in East Coast, I urge you to make your presence felt. I do not want to follow the political leaders because I do not plan to become a minister or an ambassador. Peace is patriotic. I say yes to national interests and interests of the poorest people of my country. Let's all realize we are all Nepalese. We all love Nepal. Lets give King a CHANCE. Let's welcome our King and let him know we do stand by him and our country as true nation loving Nepalis. Jai Nepal

Welcoming Head of the State does not mean becoming minister or any thing. There are positive ways of dealing Gharko jhagada as lovaboy says. Bidesh ma basera birodh ko tamasha dekhauna hunchha bhane welcome garna kina nahune.

Nepal is our motherland and our home...every home has its conflicts and we are certainly no different. But just because we have problems in our home, doesn't mean you cry, fight, and try to solve the problem outside your home. So stop making a fool out of yourself and don't give the neighbors a reason to laugh about. Frankly the US, UK, & India have too much problems in their homes, so fighting for your cause in their homes is a pure stupidity and a "cry for help" to have them come rescue us. So neither we want to be intervened or invaded. Nepal has stood the test of time and we are well capable of resolving the issues with in our country by ourselves. Our Nation was there way before Europeans settled and formed United States of America, Our Nation was there independent and functioning while India was being ruled by Great Britain and Our Brave Nation was still there fighting and counter punching every attack by the British troops. So, the point here is, history speaks for itself. SO STOP THIS NONSENSE ABOUT DOING DEMONSTRATIONS IN A FOREIGN LAND TRYING TO SOLVE PROBLEMS IN YOUR LAND. Get a clue people!!!

Freedom is when the people can speak, democracy is when the government listens. - Alastair Farrugia ********When did we ever have anyone listen to us in the last 15 years of so called democracy? Atleast, King is going around the country trying to understand them. He is atleast trying. About wanting democracy like in America- Perhaps in about a 100 years we will get there. Like Monarchy, democracy will still not be a perfect system even then. Nothing is perfect. No system will ever be so perfect for Nepal to try to emulate the system of another country with different circumstances, geo-political status with different history . Like Hukka said, we are different, our history is different and Nepal is fully capable of resolving its internal crisis. Lets not forget our pride. Lets not plea with the 3rd parties. ************************************************* 'Democracy,' in the United States rhetoric refers to a system of governance in which elite elements based in the business community control the state by virtue of their dominance of the private society, while the population observes quietly. So understood, democracy is a system of elite decision and public ratification, as in the United States itself. Correspondingly, popular involvement in the formation of public policy is considered a serious threat. It is not a step towards democracy; rather it constitutes a 'crisis of democracy' that must be overcome. - Noam Chomsky, noted American dissident and professor at MIT in On Power and Ideology (1987) Let's keep this spirit up and running!Hamro Raja Hamro Desh Pran Bhanda Pyaaro Cha!

It's funny how people talk shit about everything when they're in U.S. If you really care about the future of Nepal stop bashing, start promoting. If you have american friends trying sending them to Nepal and help promote the tourism, nepal really needs a positive feedback. I'm sure those who're protesting are related to girija or some other corrupted politicians.

love our mothere land but no one has to love the people who are leading mero pyaro desh. I think every nepali who are in bidesh loves nepal as much as nepali who are in nepal, but not every nepali loves the king, party leaders and of course maoist. GOD BLESS NEPAL

Just a question, ?What is the king's plan in eliminating the Maoist insurgency?? By killing each and every Maoist? Looking at the steps he has taken it does looks like it. If not, what are the measures he has taken? Does he think that he can abolish this problem taking control over the government while one of the Maoist demand is to take out king?s involvement from the government. So, by this move you?ll see more people losing their lives everyday. Cause you cannot kill each and every Maoist. You kill one today there will be two new Maoists tomorrow. It was good he took care of some dreadful politicians but he should have not put those old panche politicians who have no knowledge about politics. So, unless he has the real agenda on eliminating the problem our country is facing, I will not support the King. I love my country and i love my democracy.

The choice is clear. If you are the children of bhrasta Pancha and mandale or somebody who benefitted from illicit connection to the palace and have no idea about the reality of the common people, you will welcome Gyane because to your myopic brain nothing beyond the misdeeds in 12 years of democracy can process or make sense. But if you have independent brain, can think critically, and criticise the evils of 12 as well as 250 years of successive kings' rule, you will know what you are doing. You will look at the last 3 years, last 7 months, and the world as well as your own potential as that of 24 million people of Nepal. And you will oppose the draconian measures of smuggler-killer king and his con men intent on reversing history to trap Nepal into an anachronistic set up. And you will go to protest the King. Dictators have no loyalty or national color. They are killer wherever they are and the maxim of "GHARKO JHAGADA" does not apply here. That's a lame excuse to distract dissenters and perpetuate dark rules in Nepal's political history. So the choice is clear, and I think now people are also reluctant to follow the corrupt of the leaders but it does not mean they welcome the most corrupt and hypocritical conman called Gyanendra. So if you have a critical mind, go to the protest. If you are also a conman or their kinsman, you will show your true color. You will say you enjoy the freedom in America but people in Nepal don't deserve it because then you will say they are not connected to you and the king's conmen. But we in Nepal will reject you as well as your king and his conmen. Lonely#1
