shane warne is a leg spin bowler for right handed bats man. lets imagine that rest of the players from other countries all are left handed batsman. so will he be still called as leg spinner? lets say:..batsman played a ball straight down to the bowler and bowler touches the ball and hit the stumps and the non striker is out of his crease. Now at the time when the ball hit the non striker stumps ....the batsman was hit wicket. In clousion the timing of the ball hitting the non striker stumps and the striker being hit wicket is the same. So in this case..who will be out?

Ok my turn. Let' say the batsman hit the ball in air and it goes inside the leg-umpire's pocket. A fielder nearby spots it and take it out of his pocket instantly. Is it caught?

Yes it is. As anything is possible:-)> Here is one example: It was game between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Aravinda D Silva (or Inzi, don't remember the person, sorry!!) was in slip position. Ball came to him, he tried to catch it but it dropped to the ground. Infact it didn't touch the ground. There was his trouser in between ball and the ground. The ball bounced back and he caught it again. Third Umpire decided it was OUT. As long as the ball doesn't hit the grass or soil of the ground and fielder catches it, Batsman is Out. It's funny :-)>

Texan, yeah i remember that match. But I am just wondering if the batsman can be given out in the case that I am assuming. When the ball lands inside the pocket, it comes to halt so officially it should be dead. However if it lands inside the pocket and the fielder also manage to get his hand inside the pocket somehow at the same time, then it might be given out. Just my thought, I might be wrong. Aren't we complicating the game too much?? lol....

Yeah I remember that guy, but I forgot his name. Man, gone are those days of cricket, when I used to eat, drink and sleep cricket literally. The other day I remember how I unsuccessfully tried to incite the interest of the game on this american friend of mine. US is not a place for it...

Very true texan, as long as the ball is in the air the batsman is good to go. The person in the slip position you are talking about was prolly De Silva, if I'm not mistaken.:) Either Steve bucknor or Dicky Bird will work here.:) How about venkat ragawan from India? Feel like I haven't watch cricket for ages. Mr. Lonely I was one of the cricket fan followers back home and like yourself I used to eat, sleep and drink cricket. Those days are gone now.:)

. in the case of the ball lodging in the umpire's clothes, that, by definition of a 'dead ball', is a dead ball hence not out

Hahahha. Nice that we have our umpire and a player. One down thirteen more players to go. We need the best team hai. Joshit that would consider nothing. The ball has to be handled by the opposition team. Was creative thinking though.:)

What in the world am I writing ! I see typos everywhere. Pardon my typos. If you see BhuvanKC, offer him the position hai. He did a real good job during the Under 19 WWC. Btw are you allowed to sip a glass of chilled rum? I wonder! Prolly a glass of pepsi instead.:) ** I can be the watergirl for a change.:P who carries bottles of water to the player in the field along with the messages from the Coach and the captain.:)

. why cant you form nepali women's team? and once im in the booth, whats to stop me from slipping a thimble or two of rum into my chilled pepsi :) ok, heres a question for you all this actually happened, so you can look for it on cricinfo... suppose a batsman hits the ball and it pops up and appears to be falling straight towards the stumps. now, according to the law on hitting the ball twice, the batsman is in his full rights to swat the ball away in mid-air with the bat, since he is essentially doing this in order to protect the stumps. so he hits it away however, at the same time, the wicket-keeper is trying to catch the ball to get him out caught. what is the ruling? is he out? and why?
