if he would not have insisted gauri wouldnt have told anything and her fans would have left with many questions. i appreciate what he did. we should remember whoever any film or sport star is, their personal life is interest of general public. and media is trying to find it out. the fact that vijay came out succesfully just got to show how good he is . he never bullied gauri. he was calm, soft spoken and never forced on gauri. if gauri wanted she could have told " i dont want to answer this question" but she never did.

and about amitaab bachan incident. that was a hiccup .but it was learning curve for vijay. he learned alot from that incidence. he was young then but was considered best interviewer even then.

third thing , gauri knew what to expect in the interview. usually whenever stars are called they are given model questions. if you dont believe , u could see gauri malla taking out her poem in paper when he asked for poem.

I wonder how much her fans would want to know how much inferior she would would feel in regards to beauty when compared with karishma kc. Why was vijay trying to focus on how "not so perfect" she was?

and gauri malla on the other looked so pathetic like most of the nepali women...who thinks they deserved the "ugly" title because someone said so...who think they cannot be rude to those who try to be rude to them!....they think that way because, unfortunately, they are brought up that way....they are taught to give respect even to disrespectfuls.....

gauri malla, to me, represented the state of real nepali women in nepal....and yes it is pathetic!...they need someone to voice for them, for their dignity!...i have respect for her for being able to tolerate someone like vijay kumar...and for the great actress she had been. but i would have respected her more if she had tackled the questions more confidently...

sajha user. trust me whenever this cine artist are called almost all the question is given prior to them. so its not that vijay kumar said that extempore. also vijay kumar also said many times that she is the best actress of human emotions.artist almost know what to expect. i think we should appreicate when somebody is so blunt and calls spade a spade and then he isnt that patronizing. he never raised voice , insisted gauri to answer. gauri could easily say " i would not answer this question". he also said she looks much more beautiful now. all i know is gauri knows vijay and family very well. vijay kumar family is very close to nepali cine faternity and vijay wife was actress herself.

He did insisted upon asking her age. and she said she didn't want to answer it...and yet he kept on insisting until he got what he wanted...although the scripts are given prior to the artists and and interrogator, it clearly shows both of their attitudes...their innner views...

I don't understand why they don't want to tell their ages... that's not being ethical onyour own AGE. What's wrong about telling the age? One day we have to die... anyways.

I find Vijay Kumar always wants the centre of attention even though the whole point of his show is to portary the guest. He is too self-indulgent and comes across as unrefined interviewer.

I said from what I have seen in my family/friends...I didn't really mean to say that all women are like that, mind it! How can I say that? if I do, i'll be contradicting myself!

...looks like vijay kumar is getting more and more publicity...i don't know whether gauri knew about the kinds of questions that would be thrown towards her, and i also do not know if VK was asking such questions just because he wanted to gain publicity or just becausse he wanted to make her feel inferior. What I know is, the motto of this program is to attract more people towards it, gain popularity through some interesting things (well, we get much information from this program, but it runs not just for that!). And now, looking at this thread and all these replies, i am very sure that VK has the ability to attract people towards this (whether they like him or not!) and this program has sure gained much popularity!!

telling people your age kind of makes you feel like you are getting old (felt the same on my last birthday, damn). i don't know what asking her old she was had anything to do with the interview. and insisting that he wanted a number helped any kind of cause. but we should also give the interviewer his due when he didn't go about insisting that she tell him the reason behind her divorce. he spared her there at least and i think that mattered more.

Somewhat this interview with Gauri Malla is similar to Jharan Bajracharya's interview by VK.

Personally I think he is a horrible interviewer. He does not know his boundries he brings personal vendattas. He begins by demising the actress, her career and with a bias view.

He talks as if people as if living abroad is a sin. I remember him taking TOEFL test with me at Lincoln school in ktm perhaps he did not score enough...On the other hand Gauri was gracious and answered well.

Having Bijay Kumar on the air is a liability and a disgrace to the TV station. I would fire him in a heart beat

mucho fieste when did you see him taking tofel testmust be ten fifteen years ago..lol .he never said living abroad is a sin. he himself lived in newzealand for several years. his wife herself is an actress and they know each and everybody in film industry very well.

second thing, how many of people would have been interested in watching gauri mallas interview if he kept on asking about her movies santaan,lovipapi and so forth. those are bygone. she has come back to nepal after four years. everybody is curious what has happened to her life or else there would have been no use of the interview.

he never insisted in very personal question. when very personal question about divorce arrived he gave enough room to her that if she didnt want she may not answer. so he was not overbeering .

and yeah if u think vijay kumar is liablity then why dishanirdesh is so popular inteview program. why do they have to continue its sequel in nepal one program.
