Amazing bro - LOL! Hope all's well in the great white north. As for my chum Loote, he makes even people like me look good by throwing up his tantrums. Bless his heart! I feel there is a part of him that is loving every bit of being a prima donna ... ha ha ha. Regards to everyone else.

Capt oh Capt! Lol-ing,, lol..ing & smilin'.. a bag of thanks and a bit! (Is that Queen's English or what?:-) No worries, I will come & visit you in your 'humble abode' on the Amalfi coast... and likewise, but hey, when in the sansaar am I going to win the lottery bhaneko? :-) So, the villa in Tuscany, the vineyard, the cianti bottles, Puccini and ..umm.. ahem ... a few gorgeous Padma Laxmis.. await your truly's arrival! I tell you what - if the lottery thingie were never to materialise, I suggest, you bring along a a few AK 47s and 94mms from across the samudra - from Amrikaa, a gun-loving country as it is! So I can go and rob the HSBC Bank. Sorted... :-) :-) Blimey! I trust that the weekend was a fruitful one - hope you made it to the venue at last. Was reading in the other thread that the Sajha lot from Boston were going to have a do - chip-in buffet or whatever somewhere, no? Good to hear the story about your colleague - and he had ex-marital flings eh... cheeky cheeky git! :-) The temptation is always there, isn't it but hey, we all want to do things that thrill us - the adrenaline, knowing all the while that danger lurks in there somewhere, forgetting the consequences of our actions however grave these may be! Oh I know, that will be a waste, won't it - having to take up a pursuit, knowing all the while that it would yield no meaningful dividends in life? Being less practical there I suppose but then keep hoping/dreaming is what you do when your options have all run their course - therein also lies peace for the ever hapless, helpless but hopeful heart...(look at the 'h' sound there - a perfect iambic pentametre eh! :-)).. so shall I still keep on hoping for those lottery millions to knock on my door? Both you and I would be a lot better off heading towards the pub for a few lager cans and a bit! G&T for me, thank you. On me, mate! :-) See, me too gone off tangent.. blame it on the Monday frenzy at the office. :-) Just had my dinner.. feeling sleepy already. Still busy nursing the bouts of sleep deprivation from the last couple of nights! The Christmas party season has kicked off massively - phew! Might now tune in to the Bocelli songs in the other thread... some Dean Martin maybe.. Hey have a cracking week, Capt.. Here's to good life and humour! Or 'humor' as you spell it there in Amrikaa.... :-) Carpe diem

Oho Amazing... Canada re? My friggin God.. have you run out of the gorgeous Scandinavian lasses or what?.... :-) Whereabouts in Canada? I have been to a few places there myself - not long ago. So, you've moved places eh! Blimey.. About Chautari... well I think, my patience with my pathetic Nepali typing has run its course.. but I do read posts now and then... the Chautari sabulterns and veterans are very very very funny.... and I am not joking! There once used to be a funny Jeeve when went by the name of Shree5.... where is he these days?? Somewehre from Calgary.. He is no where to be seen these days or is he sporting some names that I have not spotted among the Chautari lot.. You might know.. So have you relocated to Canada for permanent? My good wishes and very merry Christmas hai ta.. Really to 'see' you too. Have a cracking time Amazing... what an amazing guy you are, Amazing,, what an amazing guy! :-):):):):)

ha ha ha ha Sandhurst L! I second that bit about the Padma Laxmis! But me too am not a fan of flings outside marriage. There is something very distasteful about the whole idea and frankly it prolly wouldn't be worth the damage it causes. But I shouldn't put the cart before the horse - here I am talking about extra marital affairs but I haven't tied the darned knot yet... ha ha ha. I suppose affairs make for spicier conversation than marriage ... LOL. Oh well, let me not blabber anymore about a subject that I can't honestly say I have much expertise in. I ploughed through a few more pages on the book - I am really liking it. I might even post a review about it in my blog once I get done. Amazing, SL - As for Kathmandu Spice, I want to give both of you a straight answer, but this is what my wicked half is telling me to say: Coke : $2.00 Tip : $4.00 Buffet: $8.95 The joys of anonymity: priceless! :)

Oh, now I see why you moved to Canada! The ice cream kiosks-parlours ran out of those cones, cream boxes, topping jars and what not because you spent all your pocket money in buying these to the smitten band of your pretty 'gals', ho?? :-) You bar-steward! The ice cream van in your neighbourhood must now be making a pretty good business eh.. blimey.. And your next destination after the place too runs out of those vans and err.. pretty gals? Alaska or North Pole?? I might visit you there then, mate - the arctic flasks of mine will come in pretty handy, I am sure. A few sips at Chivas Regal or JD - how about that? Not a whisky connoisseur mind you, but would pretend to be one all the same.. how about that eh?.. :-) Failing that a hot cuppa - Earl Grey or Ilaam Chiyaa - won't be going amiss! :-) Joking aside, thanks Amazing. Never been to Ottawa.. Once I was stranded in the New Foundland airport on my way to the Central Americas many moons ago. Been to Alberta - Edmonton and the rockies - and BC - Vancouver etc, twice. It's such a vast country. Good luck with your studies. Yes I know you did make the journey to the big island a while back - I heard you say, you spent most of your time in London, doing the 'window shopping' in those 18+ shops around Piccadilly, ray ho? :-) Have a good one. *********** ""I suppose affairs make for spicier conversation than marriage"" 'Spicier' eh.. and a buffet dinner at Ktm 'Spice'. A strange combination, don't think? :-) Good eve Capt.. and thanks. It appears that you had a jolly good time and oh, thanks for the menu. "The joys of anonymity"? And what sort of dish is that? :):):) Great to hear that the reading is coming along fine - do please share your thoughts. Oh, do you have a blog of your own? Please provide the link so I can have a wee peek into it whenever. I might now wade through a few Sajha posts before going to bed. Good night. Carpe diem

My b'day???!!!! Not yet! I AM a MERMAID!!!!! Pisces if you please! "La belle dame sans merci' re?! Oh you are such a "Highway man" hijacking people's heart and being voted the most eligible bachelor re!!! ;) Oh by the by, did I see you belt out an iambic pentameter?! I can't can't compose no rhyme nor rhythm but my heart sure can keep the iamb! Oh how romantically tics my heart! So, how have you been sire? Captain Haddock, It's been too long since I read Tintin but I will always remember cracking over Haddock's plea of racism against alcoholics. Oh, I couldn't finish Shalimar the Clown--I don't do too well with magical realism kinda-wanna-bes.

SL - "Whoever said poligamy was out of fashion! " LOL!! Yeah, its "gamy" that's out of fashion not "poli", no? :P Sitara - I am not sure what exactly you mean by "magical realism kinda-wanna-bes" but based on my reading so far of the book, it is anything but. But I suppose one man's khasi-ko-masu is another man's cardiological nightmare and two people can look at the same thing in very different ways, ya? :)

" I just came to this thread as I met my fav folks here, sorry I have not gone to the link yet" - Amazing *lolz* I found some of my all time favourite Sajha characters in here ..had to pop in!! The pull was too too strong. :P Paji..always my fav writer. Cappy...been reading you and lmao at a recent thread where you seemed to have amassed a fan following, which I guess was inevitable all things considered. Flippy, the sweetest there ever was in Sajhaland. Amazing too...dun see you as much i used too..ocourse am not able to check out sajha as often either ..hee hee. But the bestest surprise ? sitara ofcourse..how you been doin girl? Gosh..you are doing the Houdini thingy far too well.Do grace this wretched place that we are so addicted to would you? Sachi ho. and if Danny boy made an appearance..well that would be Purrfect.:) Salman rushdie...read him when I was much much younger.. it all went over my head.Trashy novels were the course of the day then..swashbuckling pirates with hearts of gold..gorgeous dukes and a not so financially fortunate gal (pore thang) but who always manage to look fab and has a brain to boot...except when the character in question comes withing close proximity!! Ha ha.. but all that aside...I recently picked up Midnight's children .A very lenghty harrowing tale. Ingenious in the way it is narrated and the way the story connects . The tale itself is very very "fantabulous" whereby at times you want to sit up and go "no way!" Alot like forrest gump..Everything happens to him. Salman too has managed to weave into his tale, the -then political situation. The one thing about the book that had me rasing my brows would be the way the poison pen letter was formed . So yea..Salman is a confirmed brainiac! amen. gone with the wind!

I have the urge to say, dear dear Capn' Padlock, but I fear being labeled Bianca Castafiore, although, I have no problems crooning her "Ah my beauty, past compare...!!!" Ah, such vanity, I harbor. ;) Actually, you are right, I did paint the whole book with a broad stroke because of sudden shifts in language-- there are certain places where the protagonists describe events in what would be considered magical-realist language-- sometimes the high drama inappropriate for the context. Hence, my "dream was burst"--in fiction, when the dream or fictional reality is disturbed with the reader raising his/her eyebrows at a certain sentence, prose, then the whole story sounds forced. Unless of course, author gives deliberate comments to keep the reader from delving into the fictional dream. And I can yada yada yada on and on and on!!! It's best if you ignore my blather, sir. I thought a better book than "Shalimar The Clown" was "Kite Runner" where the descriptions were poignant and yet real enough to draw the reader in. But I do digress. HI Scarlett Maicha, how have you been?! Talking about Houdini, speak for yourself Maiya, been following Lahure ji, I see! :)

Sitara,I would second you with all my reading being !! I loved The Kiterunner , a heartbreakingly beautiful tale.Right from the beginning , I had a knot in my stomach..on the edge till the very end. It has alot of timeless attributes, freindship, pride honour, betrayal and at long last, redemption or at the least the hope of it. This one stays with you for a long long time afterward..and you find yourself discussing it with friends over dinner, on the train, anywhere. Read it! ( now i sound like I'm hawking it !) This Khaled guy is a gifted writer, he writes with such simplicity and in it lies great wosdom. Loved it.."For you ,a thousand times over." \

Sitara - It is very interesting to read your comments. This is the first time I have read Rushdie with any seriousness - as I mentioned earlier, I stayed away from him after a bruising experience with the Satanic Verses during my adolescence. But I must say I am quite suprised by his ability to express a certain depth of thought in a somewhat light-hearted manner at times. Call it beginers enthusiasm but I have begun to like him both in style and substance. I still haven't wiped the dust off the Kite Runner - it's been lying on my bookshelf for a while now :P
