Please post the fabulous songs/sounds from the decade that are NOT cliche-numbers yet (may have been) under-rated or forgotten.

Here is my first one.

The artist did not score nearly half a dozen wives for nothing. Here is Rod Stewart singing '...Young Hearts will be free tonite..'. This one should suit since it's a long weekend.

1986 .. a band called "Pseudo Echo" had a hit with their version of "Funky Town" ... ... Many in Nepal misheard "Got a Move on" as "Pyaro Nepal", esp in the original version by Lipps Inc.

Another late '70s hit that was still big during early eighties. Who can forget Village People's Y.M.C.A. It's been said that the YMCA people were at first apprehensive about the song using their trademark name and a legal battle was due but when the song became a hit, the officials thought the song was a free commercial for them .. and they were in fact happy with it.

I am in a "disco" mood today .. so here is one more ... Weather Girls with "It's Raining Men". RuPaul had a hit with her version of this song in 1997 when she released this song as a duet with original Weather Girl Martha Wash. Then more recently Spice Girl Geri Halliwell also had some success with her version. This song has been a gay anthem too.
