Ok, here is my dilemma. Ever since I came to USA, I always wanted to go back home at some point (for good, I mean). It’s been a more than a decade and I’m still here without knowing where I am headed towards. I am not even sure why I came here to begin with, not that I regret though. But I never pictured myself living in USA for ever. I completed my studies a long time ago and have a decent job for quite sometime. I experienced the American lifestyles from many angles and lived my life to the fullest. I don’t have a dream of being a millionaire, so not much to live for now - besides working 9-5 on weekdays and waiting desperately for weekends to come by. Weekends come and go and the same loop starts all over again. You know what I mean. I’ve never felt like I belong here; everything looks so fake and artificial, which is what the USA is all about (for me at least). And every now and then when I see postings from Nepalese brothers and sisters grieving on their parents’ loss, I get scared the most. I want to go and serve my parents before it is too late. At the same time, I feel like I am trapped inside some kinda hole, which not letting me to get outta here. Do any of you have a similar experience to share with or I’m the only moron out there?

To Prove: NEPALEASE ARE ALWAYS UNSATISFIED.
Given: Nepalese have limited resources.
Proof:
1) Nepalese need money and family.
2) If they stay in Nepal they have family but not money.
3) If they go abroad they have money but not family.
4) Having both is not possible. Not having either is unsatisfying.
Therefore. NEPALESE ARE ALWAYS UNSATISFIED.

Hence Proved.

Good theory Arunima....

Yes you cannot get everything under the sun. You have to sacrifice something to get other and vice-versa. Finding the balance between the two is where it gets tricky. You must know why you came to US, if you're in your projected path, no worries.... if not, something is wrong and you're trying to ignore some potential trap.

There's 2 types of people who migrate in USA. One who sees the future and assimilate, adapt and embrace the potential, which makes this the greatest nation. Others who learn their tricks and go back to their country to implement it. If you're not any of the 2 then it doesn't matter where you go, you'll still be unhappy. You might go back to Nepal, and then miss and long for the time and the freedom you enjoyed here, think about that too. I'm being real.
2 choices
1. Assimilate and build the new future of America
2. Go back and be a happy Nepali.

YOU KNOW WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT AMERICA......
MELTING POT OR LAND OF IMMIGRANTS OR ATTRACTION OF DOLLAR ONE WAY OR ANOTHER WE LIVE HERE PAY THE TAXES...OVERALL USE THEIR RESOURCES & GIVE OUT INPUT FOR OUR OWN GOOD
WHAT WOULD I DO IF I GO BACK HOME COZ MY DAD DOES NOT OWN ENOUGH LAND TO DO FARMING OR HE IS NOT ENOUGH RICH TO BUY ME A INDUSTRY
AND TALKIN TO MYSELF I AM WORKING A DESCENT JOB HERE AND I DO NOT THINK THEY PAY WELL ENOUGH TO BUY A CAR & A NICE HOUSE...
WHY SHOULD WE GO BACK HOME....TO BE A GOOD POLITICIAN N GET SHOT??? OR TO BE A VICTIM OF CROOK SYSTEM???
I SEE NO REASON TO GO BACK UNLESS WE ARE OLD & GET THE SOCIAL SECURITY & ENJOY OUR RETIRED LIFE BACK HOME WITH GOOD TIME.
