Bob Marley first things first.. how about changing your name to Johnny rebel instead? if not buy us some hajmolas pls... since aap ki baat kuch hajam nahin huwe. How do you like my hindi? :D
SO ya.. getting to the real deal. You have no rights whatsoever to tell people what games they should be playing and what not the . Like anyone cares. If you didnt know people spend time watching and playing a game for what it is and not where all it is played and weather or not its hip or not. I, for one, love cricket. Seriously, who cares as to where it started and similar minute details. Its about the game not its origin and where all its popular. You have your choices, other people have their own. Nothing you say or do will change it. Rudely speaking, shutup and mind your own business. Also, have fun playing GULF. What what? Did i just hear you say you're too busy trying to calculate its popularity in amrika and other pointless particulars about the game to actually take time out to play? Haray

yay! for cricket in boston. i’d love to play too!

When I say "Soccer is dying around the world", I didn't mean it's going off the chart tomorrow. The popularity of American sports like Basketball, football and baseball is spreading over countries that once only knew soccer. Look around the NBA and see how many East Europen are there these days. Asian, South America are also joining in. . That's all I meant.

Bob,
Just admit it. Your point is way too lame in arguing why we shouldnt be playing and watching cricket. Just because people all over the world are turning into so called "popular american sports" doesnt mean we have to too! For gods sake.. ones preference of a sport has NOTHING to do with how popular and trendy it is. It is frustrating that the american sports channel never telecast any cricket matches and stuff.. but even that factor doesnt overshadow cricket loving people living in america. thank god for live internet streamings. why is it so hard for you to understand that its about the 'love of a game".. do you get what we all are trying to tell you? "love for/of a game" irrrespective of its trendy-ness and jpt that you discuss.

Baseball and basketball
2 most popular american sports. But how well USA is doing in those games in international level??

Reality Check:

Basket ball: USA didn't even make into the final at Athens Olympics in 2004. They were beaten by Argentina in semi-final (Yes, it's SEMI-FINAL; not even final).

Baseball: In last year's world baseball championship, USA didn't even make into semi-finals. They were eliminated from the second round.

Chora,
US is not good with "playing for free" concept, esp pro players. If there's no big money, they really don't care. Do you seriously think American can be defeated in Basketball if they try for real with monetaryi incentives? Do you? Same with Baseball.

Bob bro,

Sport is not all about money, it's about passion and pride too. And yeah, you can win 4 MVP titles in NBA in 4 years, but just one gold in olympics.
And if you talk about professionalism, Ronaldo, Zidane, Maradona didn't only played for their clubs for big money but also helped their countries to win world cup football titles. May be your so called "pro players" need to learn from them.

Well that's what the US government is trying to do. Recently they're covering more coverage of Olympics and spreading the word around. Just few years back, most of the Maerican didn't know where and when the Olympic was going on.
Patriotism is there, of course, but for the wrong purposes (I think), for war. Tell am American that they need to defend their country, they'll do it for free by enlisting in the army.

No Q
Can you remind me what Aussies are good for, any sports?
"One of my australian friend used to say " the best thing about NFL" is the music they play in the break."
Well he must be talking about the Super Bowl half time, which is jam packed with hard hitting artists performing and every seconds of commercial is paid in millions of dollars. So yeah, they're "Continuous, Non Stop, Action Packed "

Bob Bro!
I know you dont like cricket but FYI, Australia are 4 time WC Champions. So I think Australia is good in cricket.
And even though I dont follow hockey regularly, I'm very sure they are one of the strongest teams coz I used to watch when I was back home.
Also there are some individual players in different sports that have done extremely well like Ian Thorpe in swimming, Lleyton Hewitt in tennis etc.
So, you decide where Australia ranks in Sports!!

The problem here is not with the individual sports..no one can tell which is better cuz it is a person's personal taste..it is like starting a BIG discussion over a question like "Which tastes better, broccoli or cauliflower?"

I think you need to improve your sporting knowlege. In the Athens olympics they were the best country with MOST GOLD MEDALS PER POPULATION in the world. They won I believe 17-18 gold medals with the country population being even less then Nepal.

And of course Aussies are better than US in many world sports. Infact Aussie have set the bechmark about how to tap the talent.

Aussies are best in cricket, they are pretty good in tennis, swimming, golf , and i believe aussie rugby team (wallabies) are only second to best just behind all blacks (New Zealand), they are not bad in soccerl as they reach second round of world cup where US didnt even qualify for second round.

And of course in australia they play football . I believe they call it AUSSIE RULE FOOTBALL with rules pretty similar to NFL. I guess in that game US is better than australia.

Nyway who said STARS do not value the olympics
Dirk Nowitzki says,
"For every athlete there is no bigger thing than the Olympics. For me that's right behind the NBA title"
