When fear of gays out does fear of Bin Laden
When moral police seek to restrict women's choice
When O'Reilly talks about over sexed media
When Limbaugh cries foul about drugs from Canada
When tricky Dick talks about service to the country
When Bush talks about military honor
I book the next flight out of BWI,
destination unknown,
but definitely no where near the land of the free.

GOD AND ME 1
someone said
there is no devil; it is just god when he is drunk
i guess he was right
but i found my god
in a local k-mart store
next to spiderman action figure

library 8 pm
leaves gather outside
they are not colorful anymore
tomorrow is next day
another leave leaves color
all my friends are pissed
they look ready to explode
maybe
they're waiting for winter

Last winter
under the fig tree;
we tried to recreate spring.
in front of the TV ;
i tried to recreate my lust .
but it was winter
no heat
no lust
no tree
....

bhattu, the last one was great. i think you could make some points more clear and the poem would be better. what does in front of the TV signify? why do you need TV to recreate spring? somewhat unclear. but i love the idea! "i tried to recreate lust" is strangely mysterious. write more. go bukowski!

sense, "Guilt" seemed too vague, pal. poetry just reads better when images are concerete but "lies cant make me a lover" is a line that transcends ambuguity. please carry on and post more.

MG i already i am no poet. i am a biology major far from poetry. i don't know the ins and outs i just write what i feel well the last poem should have been
recreate spring under a fig tree and recreate lust in front of tv. it just what i felt


i don't know how to write poems but i try

my girlfriend
who's boyfriend is my best friend
wanted him to send her a maple leaf
as a valentine gift
she probably wanted an authentic leaf
and me
authentic love
both failed miserably

so it was just some typo ... recreate lust in front of TV... clears the meaning. good one.

my friend used to draw naked women in his notebook
he said he used them to masturbate
i thought it was neat
"can u draw me one" i said
yes he did, from my dreams
i still have the picture
i use it sometimes
the best piece of my past
that's my only memory.....

Fall was here again.
And they are still hauling the yellow, dried leaves from the sidewalks.
This morning I woke up an hour early; victorious at time conquered, the hour hand forced back...
And now chancing upon the words from years past, I wish for Daylight Saving for our past lives...

Yet the evening sky is here, just darker; and yet these ancient words are dead as a thread forgotten.
No headstone...No eulogy...

Amnesia is epitaph enough.
