Coiming to america has taught a lot to us, from working 12 hrs a day to going to clubs and hanging out with friends. yess here we dont have to report to our parents before sunset. we are free to certain extent only though. We still dont have freedom like guys, and even americans dont exercise that freedom. girls have never been able to come out of their cocoon and say heyy this me is, i dont give a damm on what you think. we are just conscious of what others think about us, and we are constantly thinking if i do this or that what will my husband or my in laws will think after i get married.

I DO NOT AGREE about this fight thing in parties and girls evoke them.

girls are simple,soft hearted persons, they dont want to see one of their nepali daju-bhai bleeding. fights break out because most of the time guys want to and tend to act like they "Protect" girls. We often regard "female creatures" as helpless and males as dominant and females are cannot take care of themselves. to some extent we tend to make that impression ourselves too, which i think is totally wrong.
and the other reason to break out the fights between guys is that guys fight, its their nature. I also blame guys to break fights for no reason, if one guy stares at other the second one goes on"oh bro kaslai stare deko?" and fights just break out. I havent seen that in US but i have experienced that behaviour in nepal.

What I meant to say was, I like to stay away from FOBs who just land because it's usually those people who drink (and aren't even able to hold their alcohol). That's very pathetic for someone in their twenties-thirties.

3. I have no clue what you do. If you're one of those who drinks and pukes, and smokes pot, and doesn't go to school but is here on a student visa, and is planning a career at walmart, then yes. But I don't know you. I don't know your manners. So I can't tell you if I think you're an FOB.

4. My mother stayed in the US when she was younger(diplomatic). Therefore, I don't believe we were 'fobs' when we initially moved.

Summary: FOB is determined by behavior, not how many years you have stayed here.

aha, This is why I stay the hell away from most Nepalese people. Of course, educated members of our community are great. My dad is a double masters engineer and you'll never hear him say or do some of the really idiotic things I've seen Nepalese men do.
I think it's usually fresh off the boat nepalese who behave stupidly, so I don't want to generalize. I know the Nepalese men in my family are well educated and well mannered and that's all great, but some of the men I've seen are just so stupid that it's beyond funny.
I once went to a Nepalese party and grown men drank too much and threw up!!! Can you believe it? And not just one, four or five of them. It was so disgusting.
Plus, if you're not super friendly then you get accused of trying to be white.
