Why and How Bahunism Racism is major problem in Nepal and its Democracy?

Is there really Racism in Nepal?

I need to know.... What do you think?

As far as I know, I dont really think racism was brought by bahun chhetri or people from any other caste in particular. We have so many cultures within our society that even if we try to be same as other people we cant. We have different traditions, cultures even religions.

I have seen people of KTM calling, burmu, nyar, bhote, madhise, phadiya etc etc. Calling people by their caste is not racism. Racism is supposed to be active when one particular race is favoured over another.

Why I think people think there is racism in Nepal?

If we go back in time, bahun and chhetris and some newars were the only educated ones in Nepal. So, in time they occupied influencial positions in the system. We have general tendency to favour our people. I am talking about nepotism and favouritism. When people from caste are dominant in the system it is our inherent behavior to do acts like favoring one's ones. That is what happened when people from other caste also started generating high quality educated people and came for competition for the jobs. Right at that moment they faced great difficulty in getting a right job as per their qualification as the system is already suffering from nepotism and favoritism. I feel that is what might have happened.
We cannot eliminate this kind of racism (nepotism and favoritism) completely in no time. But at least we can let us not repeat the same. Let us not differentiate people. I think it is more a culture based than only caste sytem. We have to develop our own "chetansil" culture and perhaps in near future we will have more relaxed society as far as nepotism and favoritism or racism is concerned.

I wrote the above statements abusing Newars when I was upset by Nice Bhanne Keta who abused Koiralas. I would have taken back my words if it had been possible.My girlfriend, a newarni made me post this when I showed the above post. Thats why just Neglect that. Newarni girls are the best.

Now I came to the conclusion that Newar peoples are the best persons in the world and Bahuns are the worst. If Newar had been in power, Nepal would have been like Singapore just in the same way P.L. Sing once stated during election. I guess she will be happy to read this.

As I was saying that Newars are the best, this was proved by Rajaram shrestha, mayer of Kathmandu who recently proposed city bus in Kathmandu in which 25% discount is given for the local residents of Kathmandu and 100% discount for all employee of Municipality. What a great newar....Mannai parchha yar. I think if he were prime minister of Nepal he would give 25% discount to all nepalese and 100% discount to all government employee and 100% extra charge for Dhoti. What an intelligent man...Ki kaso Newar sathi haru ho??

It is more directed towards Indian hindu. But fits this discussion thread, about racism and male dominated society. Again, the problem is our traditional hindu religion, and caste system depended on older system. Not Bahun or Chettris or Newars or other minnorities.

Yes, I agree Culture and Religion play vital role in society.

But why majority Bahun and Chettri people act corrupt in Nepal? There are also so many native Nepalese people are practice Hinduism.

Why one group of people honest and good, and why one group of people corrupt and criminals within same society and same Hindu Religion?

I agree that we have Racism in Nepal. No one can hide, ignore and run with it.

In Nepal, Racism is deep wound likes a cancer of society. So Racism is one element that destroys Nepali democracy.

Yes, it is democratic rights, freedom of speech and freedom of expression.

Talking about “Racism in Nepal” is education.

But those people who do practice Racism in society and politics are serious and real racist. These act against democracy.

I also agree that Racism is a major defect of Nepali Democracy, Peace, Human Rights and Freedom.

That is a key reason that Nepalese can not successful to practice Democracy which results country in far below under development and poor.
