Majority of Bahuns in remote parts of the country are living in poverty, are uneducated and unsophisticated. Bahuns may have 98 percent of the civil service jobs, but how about for other industries? For example, if we looked at businesses, it would be dominated by the Newars. Travel and tourism would be where Gurungs, Rais and others hold prestigious positions. But taking only the civil service statistics to conclude that Bahuns are responsible for the ill fate of Nepal shows narrow vision. I admit certain Bahun prime ministers have ruined up the country, but haven’t there been prime ministers from other ethnic groups who have been equally unsuccessful?

This is a list of council of ministers last expanded on June 11, 2006. Analyze yourself how many percentage of them are bahuns and chhetris. If we agree that 95 percentage seats are occupied by bahuns and chhetris in SPA, then chance of being minister for other caste is higher than bahuns and chhetris. Mr. Girija Prasad Koirala Mr. K. P. Sharma Oli Mr. Amik Sherchan Mr. Gopal Man Shrestha Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat Mr. Mahanta Thakur Mr. Krishna Prasad Sitaula Mr. Prabhu Narayan Chaudhari Mr. Narendra Bikram Nembang Mr. Rajendra Prasad Pandey Mr. Pradip Kumar Gyawali Dr. Mangal Siddhi Manandhar Mr. Hridayesh Tripathi Mr. Gopal Rai Mr. Dilendra Prasad Badu Urmila Aryal Mr. Man Bahadur Biswokarma Mr. Dharma Nath Prasad Saha Mr. Ramesh Lekhak Mr. Gyanendra Bahadur Karki

NOT that i give a Damn.. just FYI.. according to the list above :12 out of 20 are bahun so that makes around 65% ..population of bahun in Nepal(excluding chettries) around 5-7%. well, again even if there 100% bahun one should have no problem as long as they honestly work for the people and country ... not work for themself. and even if there is 0% bahun in the cabinet there is no gurantee that they would not be corrupt!!

bahun nai bahun.. ha ha.. bhanchha bhnaera ek dui non-bahnu chhan hai. Government appoints acting secretaries The meeting of the council of ministers held Monday at the prime minister's residence in Baluwatar decided to appoint 15 acting secretaries. According to the decision, the Finance Ministry will have two secretaries from now onwards looking into income and expenditure separately. Some of the newly appointed acting secretaries include Ram Sarobar Dube, Tana Guatam, Tulsi Bhattarai, Sushil Shumsher Rana, Damodar Parajuli, Bhagirathi Basnet, Shankar Lal Chaudhary, Shankar Koirala, Shankar Parajuli, Bala Nanda Poudel, Shyam Prasad Mainali and Bhagawati Kafle. The cabinet also decided to install five regional administrators from among these 15 persons. The ministries of these acting secretaries will be finalized by Monday evening. Most of the ministries have been operating without secretaries for several months. The cabinet also approved four bills including a bill to amend the Nepal Rastra Bank Act and Insolvency Act. However, the much awaited bill for amendment of the army act was not even discussed. According to Local Development Minister Rajendra Pandey, members of the cabinet on the occasion objected to the views of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala that the king should be given space. Prime Minister Koirala during a meeting with the industrialists on Sunday had said that king should be given space in democracy to avoid danger of destruction and violence out of frustration. Pandey told reporters that it was the prime minister's personal view but not of the government. The cabinet also discussed the progress of the peace talks with the Maoists. The government peace talks team is holding internal discussion after the cabinet meeting. nepalnews.com ia Aug 07 06

I think they should implement affirmative action in Nepal too. So the country can include ASSHOLES like CHAAKRAPANI , KARMARANA in the legislative process.

There is NOT Equality or Equal oppertunity for all race Nepalese in (1) Education (2) Government Employment and (3) Political participation as well as social justice systems. It is a key matter of failure Nepali Democracy, and it will fail again....If not truly implement EQUALITY in key subject of life and nation.
