Hey there PH !! I agree with you, it is a nice song. Contemporary music of Nepal nowdays are craps !! Too many stupid remixes, Djs and money loaded wanna be singers.

Not to make MK angery, but what BM said about the ability to record an album is true- if you have money, you can find a good music arranger, purchase a lyrics and lastly make a music video to the promotion.

MM, you got it wrong. That comment was not really directed to Sudip, but rather to other so called artistets. I am sure you are aware of this. Also don't forget about what Aasstha did - they actually recorded Jay Chou, a Taiwanese artistes song before without even acknowledging it.

Good for Sudip that he writes his own lyrics, music and etc.

But please hear me out. I have nothing personal against Sudip but I don't like his brand of music. Anything hip-hop,rap, and R & B is completely out for me. I hear these type of music in clubs but I don't listen to them.

This is the type of musician whom I have so much respect. He makes music and I personally don't know him.

YES I DID
OK HERE IS AN ARTICLE FROM CYBERSANSAR...
SOURCE : http://www.cybernepal.com.np/feature/07sep/feature.php?id=sudip&title=Sudip%E2%80%99s%20solo%20attempt%20%E2%80%9CPrayas%E2%80%9D

Sudip’s solo attempt “Prayas”
7th September, 2007 (Friday)

- Preity

Sudip gurung from “Aastha” is soon to release his solo project “Prayas” in the local market. Nepali music admirers abroad have already tasted Sudip’s music through his promotional CD which he prepared especially for his fans in the UK, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong. The major objective of the promotional campaign was to give an exclusive preview of what is coming out and also to collect the feedback and incorporate it in the upcoming album.

“The response is good!” Sudip says.
The CD cover is designed by Dreams & Ideas Pvt. Ltd it has 3 singles, Pagalpan, Ke Garyo and Suwas. The tracks are recorded in London and are arranged by a Britain born Ghanaian producer Gabriel Ammah who has previously worked with talented artists both in the UK and the US.

Sudip plans a worldwide release of the album through SAV this September. The album will contain 10 tracks following some R&B and Pop genre. The lyrics in the songs revolve around the usual relationship issues and optimism towards life. Apart from the 3 songs on the promotional CD, 7 are recorded in Nepal at the Phoenix Studio which are arranged by Sanzip Rai and Manoj KC. Sudip himself has taken care of the lyrics, music and the vocals.

After “Aastha” was introduced in 2003, Sudip and Naren certainly were the “Hot Cakes” of the season. Now four years down the line, we have the solo albums from both the talented artists.

The question that the fans have now is why didn’t Sudip use the name “Aastha” and why are they coming out with solo albums?
Sudip says, “Naren came out with the album first so he used the name. I was abroad for studies and when I was there in the UK, I used to write songs and composed myself despite the time limitations and everything. So, as this was all me and my personal taste and creation, I thought of bringing out this album. Naren and I are still together and will be coming out with an album by 2009… honestly! For now, I think it’s more advantageous to our listeners; they individually got to hear our music and preferences”.

Right now Sudip is working on his official website www.sudipmusic.com which is powered by Dreams & Ideas Pvt. Ltd which is under construction. If you want to know more about him and his recent updates and information you can also log on to http://sudipmusic.hi5.com & www.myspace.com/sudipmusic. He has all the informative and entertaining stuffs compiled for his fans.

It's Now Sudip's (Aastha) Turn To Go Solo [Update : 14 Sep 2007]

Sudip Gurung of the popular boy band Aastha landed in Kathmandu sometime back from London for the promotion of his first solo effort titled 'Sudip'; to hit the market under the label of SAV. As Sudip is basically into R&B music, the majority of the songs of this album would be focusing on the same genre. As informed by him, there are nine songs in the album and one of the songs titled 'Narisaunu' written by friend and band mate, Naren has been performed by both of them as 'Aastha', a la good ole days. Rest of the songs have been written and composed by Sudip himself. The lyrics of the songs are based on relationships and a few on optimism and relevant issues. Talking about music arrangements, he's worked with Manoj KC of 1974 AD, Sanzip Rai and Gabriel Amah who's also worked with some major international companies. Sudip has done the acoustic guitar works on the three songs by himself, which were recorded in the UK, and the rest of the songs were recorded here in Kathmandu at Phonix Studio.

Further information gathered indicates that Sudip has already sent his promotional CD's to Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, Canada and the UK which containing three songs. He states that he started writing songs for an album since 2003, the same year he went to the UK for his studies. He wrote those songs with the intention of doing an album as 'Aastha' with Naren in 2004 but because of circumstances, it never materialized due to the fact that he was not ready with all the songs for an album; other matters taking up most of his time. "That is how this album happened" explains Sudip. The album is scheduled to be released by next week. Just to let you know, Naren, the other half of Aastha also released his second solo album 'Aartha' about a month back and both of them are planning to tour together to various places in western Nepal for the promotion of their respective albums. Sudip emphasized on the fact that he and Naren are already making plans of releasing an album by 2009 collectively as Aastha. We wish both of them good luck and best wishes for their albums as well.

May be. That depends on the individual. But as far as  I know, when I was living in Singapore, Astha was quite popular. But that was like two years ago and knowing that most people are fickle minded, things might be quite different. Beside in Singapore, Nepalese people are also very much influence by what they see in TV, so it is very common for them to be buying Chinese, Thai, Malay, Japanese and Korean.

Good luck to Sudip.

You are right there. Most of the youngsters go for contemprary style and Sudip is very much aware of this. But don't forget about the purchasing power.
