This is politics!!! Obama needs Hillary's help to unite Democratic Party. Hillary's walk away may result into low number of votes for Democratic Party as a whole.

Congrats to all you latte sipping, gated community living, Mercedes driving, Purell using, Paris Hilton revering or any one of them doing Obama galsJ

I haven’t yet understood how he will win with a resume with two years of elite political experience, of course keeping race aside. The uniting messiah of the liberals have really done smthing out of expected and inspired a one year work experience like myself to apply for the CEO. Its all about the judgment, isn’t it?? Anyway, Kudos to him for achieving something which even a hardcore doper wouldn’t have dared to dream. Following his footstep for my next year CEO application, I am also planning to write a book, “Audacity of DOPE ”J Or shall I move into cocaine??

How he got the crowd towards his side could be a great political research topic. Though Clinton did do many strategically errors which I don’t know why they didn’t think about it (Dodging the Iraq vote.. not pushing women agenda in their campaign, and giving damn to caucus states).

In case of Iraq vote, I thought and still think that she is much better positioned to defend herself than any body else.

Incase of women agenda, if you split your most favorable demographic 50-50 with your opponent, then boy there must be something wrong with the campaign.

Also few other things which I have learnt after this race.

  1. Don’t believe both the intolerant right and hypocrite liberals.
  2. Political campaign should be like advertisement to the kids, full of jingles.
  3. the only way to win is to villainies ur opponent. Don’t do it urself, make ur aficionados to do it.
  4. throw a tag to ur opponent (polarizing bitch or a terrorist)
  5. After knowing about HRC may be in ticket, I now know, these slimy jackasses politician won’t have a memory of a day-long.
  6. To change something u should be supported by the all the oldies who actually perpetrated them.
  7. Politics is politics all over world

My suggestion to Obama, “Don’t be Dukakis or McGovern and don’t give third term of Bush”.

Though I do have some good feelings about the “Maverick” McCainJ, besides he is also relatively centrist like the Maverick himself.

Hope all you guys are doing good.

Maverick

Those arguments sound like sour grapes. That's a lot of bitterness. If Clinton, as the most prominent figure in the democratic party for years, couldn't win the Democratic contest with all of those virtues you heap upon her, I think that sums up the changed political climate in this country that she sadly failed to recognize. She should have won this, she could have won, she almost won this  this but in the end  lost to a junior politician. And it's not Obama's fault, the media's fault, or some latte sipper's or Dunkin drinker's fault - to say so would be cowardly escapism. He proved to be a better candidate and won by a close margin.

I can only hope her campaign for vice president fares better than her one for president.

LOL Haddock, now what, "bitterness" is the new buzzword in the town?

Oh ya! If I had posted comparing her/him with Hitler, who killed 1.7 million jews for no reason, would have been totally R O F L... isnt it???

"In case of Iraq vote, I thought and still think that she is much better positioned to defend herself than any body else."

hahaha..mav,
coz her wrinkles can face that call at 3 AM in the morning more wisely? hahaha....
you have answered yourself in your post. it's about the ability to judge and not the number of gray hairs you have on your scalp. plus, you have all sorts of highlighters these days to fool people :P

and talking about judgment,  obama has been vehemently and vocally opposing the war in iraq ever since he was there in the senate. hillary actually voted for the deal in 2003 and hence would have been in a dire need to pull her socks to face some music from the republicans come novemeber if she had won the nomination.

and i agree with captain. obama has consistently proven himself to be a better candidate than hillary and that's the main reason he is there, fair and square. while both candidates are charismatic and eloquent (Obama with a slight edge over her to begin with), over time, through the campaign, Obama's rationality and freshness (appeal for a change) took over hers and his likabililty and ability to bring the people together made the difference in the end. and that's all it matters in the end--bring the people together. no one knows how the future is gonna be (and that applies even to stale candidates)

and yeah, good luck on your pursuit for CEO. don't forget to smell some coffee though HAHAHA...no i mean seriously, all the best ;P....nah kidding, 'yes you can'! :D

the case for obama looks pretty strong against McCain just coz he has been against the Iraq war since its inception ...He has focused and said time and again that he would opt for active diplomacy than a war. Five and a half years into war, everybody seems to agree that this is a war America has never gotten into.....Economy is in recession....the housing sector has hit depression....Americans are fed up with war now...That alone is enough for his case to win the presidency this time....the Voter turnout among democrat compared to republics cleary shows that we are going to see a democratic president this time around......Health care and comprehensive immigration among other things that he knows really well and has shown interest to work upon......I was all up for this brilliant black man from the first speech I heard of him on TV,.....His own quote" No more same old faces and same old politics in washington again...Its time for change and change we all can believe in"   remind you that he has not taken any money from the lobyyists others in the campaign has done.

Loote,

I knew that either you or Captain (or shall i call Obama-Gals in combine )  will pick that line, thats why i left that line unexplained. Also wanted to see how you guys explain his "vehement iraq war opposition".
Now my reason wasnt that 3 am call nor were her wrinkled cheeks.

This was solely based on empirical evidences which I saw and have wondered till now how could they miss it. Or may be fox news need to have smthing to press on november.
Scenario was that Commader in-chief of the army came infront of the people and said we have serious  problem to our national security.  Secretary of State , n he was one of the most rated one, showed the anthrax and said this is what they are trying to do, and most importantly CIA head came and said that there is serious threat. With all these three people who are incharge of the security of the country came infront of you and said that we have serious problem; then either you must be OMNIPOTENT messiah or absolute crazy not to support or I am missing something in the sequence. What is he?  Good judgment based on, what, facts or the guts?

Before this thread turns into a mass congregation of what-if political analysis, Clinton is dropping out - this time supposedly on  Friday or Saturday. All this conversation about whether Clinton would have been better or worse is useless and means nothing anymore - at least politically. She will be out of the race by the end of the week and it will be upto Obama to steer the party ahead.

Also, we can yap and postulate as much as we want now but this election will be decided by how the voters feel in November.

Oh and Maverick, by the same token of "Obama gals", can I call you McCain's wifey ... or as the dirty old man calls her  "c**t"

I think it would be a great mistake by Obama if he picks Hillary as his running mate. This campaign has been about "Change" and no one knows the old politics of the White House better than the Clintons. People who have supported him so far would feel betrayed if he chooses Hillary. And about unifying the party to beat McCain-- this guy has come this far on his own, he does not need the help of Clintons to do that job for him.

McClellan says the administration packaged the low confidence intelligence (high risk) with the high confidence intelligence (low risk) to make it appear to the public that the risk was high.

Hillary is a shameless woman, without an iota of grace and humility!

Ok..lets go in a reverse order.

She did not let the Obama camp know that she was dropping (actually suspending) out. There isn't any rule that says she should, but at least as a protocol and some respect for the opponent, she should have notified the rival camp of her decision. Obama camp came to know about the decision after the media carried it.

Obama left her two voice messages on the night of the last primary, congratulating  on her victory in South Dakota. She did not return his phonecall until the next day. I don't think this should be a big deal, in any case, but come on, at least she should have the humility to initiate contact on her own to congratulate Obama on one of the historical nights in the American presidential politics, especially when she claims to have been a champion of civil rights.

On her speech after the final primary, she lost even tingy support she had of the most unbiased observers. She spoke well after it was decided that Obama had enough delegates to capture the nomination. She should have at least acknowledged that momentous milestone in American presidential politics. That was one of the most self-centered "narcissitic," and "delusional" speech ever given on such a stage. Not surprisingly, she took some heat from her own Senate collegues for her speech that night.

Then there is Bill Clinton blaming the Obama camp for the article in Vanity Fair; his anger should be at women whom he continues to chase around in the campaign trail.

Then there was weary Clinton blaiming the Obama camp for the RFK controversy. Inappropriate that statment was, it was factually inaccurate too. Moreover, she had repeated very similar statements several times before. She does not have any excuses of being tired there. Similar to the time when she "misspoke" about the Bosnia gunfire. She beat Obama's now infamous "bitter" comment to death, but then even while media was pounding on her for her outrageous statements she continued to play victim card and blame her opponent.

She has this fuzzy math of being ahead in popular votes. She should be ashamed to continue to play with this tactic when she well knows she is not.

I think the Clintons underestimated the power of unconventional media, blogs and news sites that created the news item which then got amplified by the main stream. She placed her blame on mainstream media for unfairly treating her, but it wasn't the mainstream media driving the news--there were blogs and sites like--politico, huffingtong post, drudge report and a lot of otheres--that were creating the news item: MSM were just amplifying those news, IMO.

I could go on and on...and I don't mean to say that Obama never made mistakes. But more often than not when he made mistakes, he apologized (without playing the victim card and blaming the opponent for his mistakes) and showed class and grace.

Maverick

I don't know about the others but I couldn't quite tell what exactly you were getting at with your comments. All I can say is I hope you vote in November and make your voice heard regardless of whom you decide to vote for. It will be an interesting and closely fought campaign no doubt.

Anyways, this clip from the Daily Show does a nice job summing up the race. To talk of the Democratic race in the same terms  anymore would be to beat a dead horse in my opinion.

An interesting analysis. I was intrigued to see the Clinton campaign whining so much - that is usually the sign of a loosing campaign.  I will be looking to see who starts whining first - McCain or Obama as a tell tale sign of the confidence of their campaigns.

Obama WILL loose to McCain if he does NOT pick Hillary for VP, here are the reason:

1.18 million Hillary supporters.
2.Too late to Obama to reconcile the difference, there's not time since this fight dragged on so long.
3.McCain has already started targeting Hillary supporters to bring them on his side. Poll shows majority of Hillary supporter will vote for McCain in case Hillary loose.
4.Jews voter: Obama's stand on Iran to appeal the older jews is in a contradiction in itself. Century old conflict  will not be resolved with dialogue, it's impossible for Obama to change their mind.

Obama has no choice, it's a LOSE LOSE situation for him.

"Obama has been vehemently and vocally opposing the war in iraq ever since he was there in the senate"

Oh well, Hillary and most of the other people voted  for war because they believed in  Bush, was it there fault then? Obama was not even in Senate to Vote, so practically he was in safe side. I read one articles recently which said that ,the longer you stay in Senate, the more likely it is to be curse to run for Presidential candidate. To be in Senate  one needs to pass thousand of laws, and some of the laws voted can come to haunt you when you run for Presidential candidate. Obama was clever in this case,he didn't wait that long. Yes indeed he was against the war from the beginning but i read and heard in some news, he changed his views at one time "when Saddam was ousted". He thought during that time the war was worthwhile. To me he  is just like rest of the politician who flip flops according to the time.
