Interaction with Gagan Thapa

Gagan Thapa is a former General Secretary of Nepal Student Union, student wing of Nepali Congress -- the largest political party in Nepal. He is undoubtedly the most prominent student leader who has become one of the leading figures in the current struggle for democracy in Nepal. He was jailed numerous times after the February 1, 2005 royal takeover on charges of ?sedition against the state? for his outspoken stance against King Gyanendra?s regime. Amnesty International had declared him a ?prisoner of conscience,? since he had been detained despite his peaceful and legitimate activities in support of democracy and human rights in Nepal. His release was procured on each occasion only under tremendous pressure from various human rights organizations and international governments.

*Mr. Thapa?s presentation will be in Nepali. Written English transcripts of his major points will be available for non-Nepali audience.
** Q & A session will be held in English, with a translation help from the moderator if needed.

....It's funny how you suggested mental hospital for Prem dai. I was thinking along the similar line. From this man's posts here and other threads in Sajha, I've a feeling that he might have some sort of personality disorder. These personality disorders are different from other disorders amounting to stereotyped 'madness' , but can however be serious enough occassionally to require psychiatric or psychological help.

Mental hospital is probably not the right location for management. A new approach which is called 'Therapeutic Community' has been favored to be effective recently. Basically what this means is that a group of people with similar problem personalities are bunged up together for up to 12 months. They eventually get fed up with each others' behaviour and abandon their own behaviour for good.

(Prem dai, you might be OK in real life though. It's just your postings which are pain in the back side.)

Prem dai, my sincere apologies. I accept that I got a bit carried away there.

Nepe, you have raised a good issue here.

I hope Gagan took home some pure message after visiting that statue of Liberty. We can rarely question that Statue... so in similar way the message from it, the liberty that we want to see in Nepal should be free from any compromise.

a. We do not trust Maoists and their blind followers.
b. We do not trust Gyane and his company
c. We still do not trust political parties and their followers. The followers should understand by now that they are on the wrong train.

They all have failed. So how can you expect any good thing from such a failed gangs?

b. We do not trust Gyane and his company
: They are useless .We don't trust and they are just wasting our tax.

c. We still do not trust political parties and their followers. The followers should understand by now that they are on the wrong train.

: Poltician were wrong not parties and followers still can change their party image. Our religion Hindu has many problem but it doesn't mean we are on wrong train or our relegion is failed.
