there is no racism i n nepal at all. you guys who live abroad the country face discrimination and reflect your own experience in our country. its not happening what u been thinking. nepal have religious tolerance and at the same time race tolerance. u don't have any racism at all. please don't make issues for issues only.

Tolerance is a big problem in Nepal. You cannot even look at someone in Nepal... you get that "Ke herchas... nyu khojya ?" response.

jayamatadi"......very well said JAYAMATADI bro.,I douldnt have illustrated it better,I totally agrree with you.Before I used to visit Sajha.com,I didnt know there lies racism in Nepal,I have friends from different castes and community but have never find any instance of racism among us.,the guys who live abroad the country face discrimination and reflect your experience in our country,I think you guys should need to get a life or better way to kill your time or both.

Bahunism ? - I don't think it exists in absolute term. But in hindu context there were clear segregation according to occupation people followed. Kings son would be king and the occupation would stick to your family. So it almost did not allow for upward mobility for other castes or even Bahuns to be the King. So once you are the bottom feeder you were a bottom feeder. One would not even touch eachother.
In more recent terms Kings and Ranas whenever they ruled have lavishly given land to Bahuns, Chettris and Thakuris all around the country. These lands have been used wisely by these recievers and with their price appreciation lots of these people have afforded good education and access to other resources. So there is a 'status quo' in Nepal. I hear lots of people saying my 'my mama ghar is biratnagar, Dang, Nepalgunj and so forth" All these land were given to people around royal family and Ranas. The people around them were Bahuns, Chettris and Thakuris as they were the only educated people who could run government organisations. So , this has definitely created a status quo. Those lands were never given to the locals there. They did not even have citizenship of nepal because their Dad did not have them and so on and nobody actually cared about them. The third of even fourht generation of this class think they are from Terai and own these lands. Infact they were given as 'Baksesh ' by the king.
Yes there is that status quo in Nepal. Most people who can write in english in their comfort of their Pcs and laptops ; may be sipping coffe ; background music or even some authentic wine do fall in this category.

Definitely Secular state is a good first step and distribution of land is still a big problem.
The problems of these unwise , unwarranted and even criminal distribution and amassing wealth can be seen every aspect of Nepali life ; political; economical ; Just Look around and See with Eyes Wide Open.
Some may like to call it Bahunism but that is a little too extreme.
The only Good thing about hinduism in my opinion is the spiritualism which is rarely known among the more recent geneations. !
