as i sit watching the england vs portugal game this morning, i could not stop commenting on this thread. most nepalis are argentina fans no doubt. ever since the days of '86 world cup, nepalis and most asians have been fans. most nepalis either support them, brazil or england. some maybe italy. but in recent years, germany is the only other team besides brazil to show some consistency by performing well. i will be very surprised if germany wins the world cup. but they deserve their success. not a fast team but consistent. argentina was a very good team but it was proved that when it came to penalties, they sucked. and in soccer that is one important aspect you can not rule out. you have to excel in everything and not just "ball chhalaune". hoina ta?

World map: Good fan spirit . It's nice to hear an arg fine using their brain and saying things in a true fan spirit. Instead of cussing the winning team. I totally agree with midwestdude. When I was a kid there were so many argentina fans so I decided to be a Germany fan..WC90.

game ramro khelne bhaneko ke ho? ke 90 min nai ball khuttama ghumaudaima tesle jitnu parchha bhanne chha ra? argentina is a good team, in fact a very good team. but every team has different strategy of playing with different team.argentina was aware of germany coz that was the only team who could beat them in this world cup so they always concentrated of simply a fact , we should not let germans take control of ball.and they succeeded coz whenever germans get the ball , they attack but the argentinians were busy possessing the ball rather than shooting at the post.just look at the statistic.in the first half argentininas were possessing 63% of ball n the germans only 37% but if u count the number of attack on the post it is just oppoiste.germans tried 5 shots n argentinians just a single one.germans had target only goal post that is why they could score goal even at the last moment.they never gave up.both teams were nervous, n germans even more in the first half coz they were under pressure deu to high expectation of fans n home ground.overall both teams were equally good but it is just a matter of strategy.sometimes it functions n sometimes it does not.like brazil, if u just c a every single name u bite ur finger wow such a great player but a single great player does not make a team.ther was no co-ordination in team n they played without aim.moreover they r lazy that is why they lost with french.that was just an overrated team though the players were all best of the world.anyway back to germany n argentina!!bad luck argentina there is always a next chance n gratulation! deutschland du bist der Weltmeister!!! ASTU!!!

elexier i feel portugal is the team with many fouls and faking. yesterday when rooney was about to be given yellow card chirsiano ronaldo who is his manchester team mate and he is all aware of rooneys hot tempered attitude went on to the refree right infront of rooney and appealed for red card against rooney just to anger rooney because he was well aware how he would respond. Exactly thats what happened , rooney in anger pushed ronaldo and he got red carded. ronaldo later winked to the coach as if their plan has been succesful against rooney. i would say scholari is a master tactician and way portugal players has been conning refree in this world cup has been amazing. figo leads the way

it was almost enevitable from the start of the world cup that european teams wins the world cup. European team usually excels in european world cup. Brazil hasnot won in european world cup in last 50 years.may be next world cup is outside europe in southafrica may be world cup again goes to south america. It is a common attitude of the fans of the loosing team to point on the bad refreeing decision and say how unlucky they have been. so i am not surprised argentinian and brazilian fans to be ranting about how lucky they have been. Even english fan can argue about the red card of rooney and one penalty not given for them. but you have to move on. Four best teams are there and it will be fun to watch. as a die hard italian fan i am sure italy will win. but if they loose i will be here ranting but i know that time wont come in this world cup.

bidhan, exactly dude. I appreciate you saying so, making a valid argument and an exact of what happened in the field. That is exactly what happened and CR should be ashamed of his behaviour. But thats the way Football is played thesedays. Look at the final minutes of France Vs. Brazil. Ronaldo clearly dived and the referee was too far away to see. If Ronaldinho had scored from the resulting free-kick, the outrage in France and the supporters would have been spectacular. I mean common man, Ronaldo, diving, and he wasn't touched. So, why are the Brazilian supporters so outraged about other team diving and getting free-kicks and penalty kicks? Whenever I have seen Rooney play, he has played fairly. He is a young, energetic lad and English supporters should be proud of what he has accomplished and done for the team in his young career and the potential of things he can achieve in England uniform. The free-kick should have been his for he was being tangled by three portuguese and he could have falled down on the ground like any other player would have done and it was a clear cut free-kick. But he tried to take possession of the ball, the players were tackling him mercilessly to gain control of the ball, and for all those time, what in the world was referee looking at being right in the nose of the incident? I was yelling, call free kick for god sake. It is ridiculous refereeing and he was clearly going to give him a yellow. CR is a such a mass of shameful, arrogant kid. He sure will be welcome wisely when he goes to Old Trafford. Anyways, Germany are looking clear favorites to lift the trophy but the suspension of Frings will be a major blow for them. Lets see how Klinsmann copes with that.
