Your abhi has been asked by USA to keep his bad mouth shut off. Did you undertand that? I guess you guys never understood the points. Just ranting like a shi t here... this how nepal is going backward.

Moriarty said mistake is common and it happens and will happen. And such mistake happened to Abhi's case. And not only that mistake, all mistakes are regrettable. That's his bad luck... or the outlook he presented there while applying for visa on that day. I am sure this guy looked quite insane or funny or suspicious on that day to the consular officer. So that's how he missed the free trip to USA. ha ha. And nepalese, of course will get mad to miss such free trips.. hoina ta?

They know mistakes can occasionally happen. This appears to have been the case in the application by Professor Subedi, long a cultural contact of our American Center, and we regret it. Okay karmarana i don't even feel like arguing with you.sometime you say there is mistake and sometime you say ohh that guy is insane..you are just making your own stuffs just to stand on your point..and i don't see any wrong in the last sentence..if you are so good in finding mistakes instead of barking here..just write letter to morarity that you could find incomplete sentence and let me see if he reply you.....

ss74k, are you nuts or what? How on earth you found that sentence Correct? Read carefully, They know mistakes can occasionally happen. So this is normal situation. And then, read the next sentence but it was ended with the comma perhaps by the editor This appears to have been the case in the application by Professor Subedi, So these two sentences tie with each other. Then what? , long a cultural contact of our American Center, and we regret it. This sentence is INCOMPLETE. So we can deduce much for this fragmented sentence. NOW read the title of Moriarty's article - U.S. VISA SERVICES: ANYTHING BUT “INDIFFERENT†What USA is saying... ANYTHING but Indifferent, totally disagreeing with crazy Abhi. And to prove his point, Moriarty gave a great details of what goes on with Visa Processing in Nepal at US Embassy. Look, I am not a fan of USA. I don;t even care if USA goes downhill or uphill. What I am drawing attention of you guys is towards the culprit intellectuals of Nepal who are partly responsible for our country's failure.

"This appears to have been the case in the application by Professor Subedi, long a cultural contact of our American Center, and we regret it. " i don't see any wrong with this sentences. I asked some of my american freinds to read the sentence also and they said there is notihng wrong...may be you must be nuts..

ho ho ..US embassay testai cha....hamra pade lekhya ba lai pani khaire mora le dui dui choti visa nadiyera balla talla tesro pali ma chain diyecha.......buda ko 50000 - 60000 hajar rupiya ta visa aplication ma nai sakecha. Hamra baa lai ris uthera tesko desh jandai janna bhanera basi rako thiye tara pachi pheri maile kar garare aaipuge.....buda le bhanthio US Embassay le Tehi nepali ko visa application paisa uthauncha ra tehi nepal lai US grant bhanera ai ali paisa dincha re...he he ... Rumor is that US embassay collects about $120,000 PER DAY from Nepalis. About 400 ppl per day apply for US visa. Those 400 include the 2nd and 3rd time applicants. So as a business view point it makes sense not issuing the visa on the first attempt.

I bet your native english speaking friends should not necessarily be perfect in grammar. OK, forget all this grammar, syntax... here is a point to ponder. If, on that day, Mr. Abhi had gotten the visa, do you think after reaching home he would have written the article bashing USA using the terms like indifference, hegemony, church-priest, and so on? Here is another point to ponder: Instead of USA, that day, he went to apply for Bangladesh's visa or Japan's visa, and got rejected, i wonder what kind of article would he have written against that country.

Sidster, I agree with your ba. But your numbers are funny.. ha ha... 400 applicants/day do not pay $120,000/day to the US Embassy. But with that 400 people, at least the money nepalese paying to US Embassy is in the range of $40,000 - $60,000 per day. That's a lot of money. It's playing lottery though. The applicant at least think so. If USA makes money it;s only because of us nepalese poeple. what else can we do? Unfortunately, Nepal cannot deny the visa to foreigners... that;s why Nepal even issue visa at the airport to these foreigner... we are poor, we need $$.

Assuming there are 5 working days per week *52weeks = 260 working days for 400 nepalese to apply for US visa paying $100 appication fees, the total sum of money Nepal is paying to USA is more than $10,400,000 per year. If USA pays $100,000 a year to one american working at the Kathamndu Embassy, then they can have 104 americans working at the embassy. Of course there are fewer than 104 americans working at Kathmandu US Embassy.

Lots of what ifs... Don't make it too complicated. Moriarty said " anything but..." That "anything" gave a perception of indifference to Abhi. What Abhi says is " US has luxury to show indifference..." bangladesh doesn't have that kind of luxury upto this date. Sidster even showed the economical aspect of this indifference. Abhi is a writer. His job is to write. He wrote what he felt and what he thought after his visa was denied. Moriarty responded. For this simple mind, Moriarty said " Sorry. To err is a human. Please don't take this mistake as intentional indifference. We really do care." Now you think Moriarty's response was doctored. You want to prove that Moriarty slapped Abhi for groaning You thought, Abhi whined for losing a free trip. A question for you. Was that really a free trip? Is it a lotttery? Where can I get such a free trip? I thought Abhi works a little harder than me and that's why he gets response even from Ambassador, just not a free trip if that what it is. Disclaimer: there are lots of syntactical and grammatical error on this text however this is not a doctored text.

US embassy also collects $200 per student visa. Out of all applicants, I would say 90% are student. US embassy collects a large sum each day much more than what this crazy and senseless Karma did in his calculation. Karma sounds as an English teacher. You poor guy, I am proud of you. You're English is far better than the native American's itself. AmriT

yes exilir..this karmarana seems to have PHD in english..first he pointed about incomplete sentence and second grammer...that is alright ,he bet native american may not be perfect in grammer or so called english......from karmarana point of view morarity is also bad in english.if he wrote incomplete sentence from your point of view why didn't he proof read and why didn't he made correction even in his own site.....he must have read kantipur and he must have read the articles in his own site....karmarana i would like you to teach how to write english to morarity???

Gosh..Isnt it over yet? This thread kinda represent MAHABHARAT....I cant see the ending coming on soon. Well whats the prob.. As Mr. Subedi is the writer..he wrote the article based upon his experience even though I dun think he had expected to get the response from Mr.Moriarty. Isnt that itself an answer? heheh..I think Karmarana has a big mouth..or its hard for him to lose...Coz its human nature. Sometimes its good to let the ego go...... Aneesha

This karmarana knows he has already lost but doesn't want to accept. That's why wants to be at the bottom of the thread. It means 'winning' for him. We can only have pity on him!
