I was looking on www.cheapoair.com and found that tickets to/from nepal are considerable cheaper than other sites and travel agents. however, there are many complaints on travel forum about this third party seller.
has anyone bought tickets from them for domestic/international travel??
thank you.

I use cheapoair all the time but I have never found 50% off than other sites. May be I am unaware of the proper searching tools. Show us how you got 50% off.

I bought one from travel agent; I did not get a chance to choose the time. I have to fly to Washington in the morning and wait for 8 hours. Another 6 hours in Doha.
But if you buy online, you will see different choices with similar price of a little more. You can choose the one that fits to you schedule and has less awaiting period on different airport.
Same applies while returning back. Buying online is what you see and pay for it as per you choice.

huh? What filters are we talking abt? I use it all the time. It's way better than hotwire/expedia/priceline etc. Speaking of filters, care to share a screenshot of you being quoted 50% off by using filters?

Care to elaborate what filters did you use?
Yes, I've used it numerous times. In fact, I book most of my flights from there. Never had any issues while booking from the site.

what cheapoair is showing is almost half of what the travel agencies quoted me. However I ran into some concerns:
1. Lots of negetive reviews of cheapoair on Trip Advisor's forum.
2. China Eastern's local staff at LAX office said that the luggage will be checked from KTM - KMG only and need to be checked again from KMG - PVG. So, the travelers need to hold on to their luggage the whole night while layover at KMG.
3. Called their 24 hour hotline in China and got very vague answers. Staffs from LAX as well as China could not understand or communicate in English.
4. If intending to go to a hotel in KMG, one has to get Transit visa prior to traveling to China.
5. The official website of the airlines does not have much information.
5. The website of the NEW Kunming airport is all in Chinese. Even Google translate could not handle it! FYI, they moved to this new Kunming airport just a year ago.
6. No Airport Hotel at the new Kunming airport.

mancini > was it for domestic or international travel?
magorkhe > 14 hours is a lot if stayed at the airport but nothing much really if you sleep at the hotel for 8-10 hours overnight. would even book a hotel at the airport but there seems to be no airport hotel at Kunming Airport.
has anyone traveled through China, especially Kunming? Please share your experience with this airline and travel through China/Kunming.
tried to find the information for China Eastern in Nepal but after a lot of online search found 2 numbers but they did not work. Anyone has contact infor for this airline in NEPAL?

A note on China transit: I also heard about claiming lagguage in Kunming transit, and it is a real problem. Regarding long transits, I had 23 hr transit in Beijing (but they transferred the baggage). I bought that ticket because it was $400-500 cheaper than next available alternative (in Orbitz). I applied for transit visa for $30 (or 40?), instead they gave me tourist visa (same charge). You can get it within hours with additional $30 express processing fee Chinese Consulate near you. I really enjoyed Beijing. Kunming may not be a great place, but going around may an option as the visa is not expensive. The hotel I selpt in Beijing was not so good, like a cheap US motel, but I was fine as it was fairly clean and I paid just about $18 for a single room! Taxi ride was cheap and I spent less than $170 while feeding myself and other two friends and visiting many places in Beijing. They said, Beijing is expensive compared to other cities.

- > thank you bro. yeah chinese visa is not an issue and also PVG transit is 5 hours, its the luggage claim in Kunming that is going to be a big hassle along with 10 hrs of transit.
