The normal process is to file Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative. This is a simple process and all instructions are available at www.uscis.gov. For GC holders, it usually takes few year but was made current in last summer.

Not sure if it is too late but looking at visa bulletin, had you filed the papers before 08SEP2013, there was a real chance of getting this done quickly. The petition I filed in August is already sent to KTM embassy for visa interview.

File the I-130 petition. It has to be done now or in future anyways. If they move forward the priority date, it may happen within few months.

After I-130 is approved, the case goes to National Visa Center. They will ask for other documents. Birth Certificate, Marriage Certificate, Visa Application from your wife and Affidavit of Support (Sponsor). In this document you, by yourself or by having co-sponsor, need to prove you have 'sufficient income' to support the intending immigrant (your spouse). The income may vary by state, and has to be at least 125% of poverty level for that state. It is approximately $20,000 for family of 2. That is you or co-sponsor need to have earned and paid taxes on at least $20,000.

Hope that helps

Thanks for the info NewTrader. Just some further clarification, hope u don't mind if some of them are redundant.
So, the priority date on Visa Bulletin website is for I-130 and Once it becomes current, your application will be worked upon and if approved will be forwarded to National Visa Center. Once the file reaches NVC, will they contact you for further files/docs that you mentioned? and how and when will they send that package to US Embassy in KTM? How will the spouse be notified in KTM that the packet has arrived at the Embassy and ready for interview? or is this notification just sent to petitioner(me) here at US and I have to coordinate with my spouse back home or is this information sent to both of us?
