(When I attended #IhaveanIdea event, I was looking forward to write about Ani Choying and Paras Khadka's stories but guess what i ended up writing)

            Let me start by a brief introduction of the event that was held on the 13^th of July 2014 in Kathmandu. It was called #IhaveanIdea, a part of the initiative by UNICEF and ChildReach Nepal. Idea Studio Nepal is a platform where people can send in their craziest idea, it gets screened and then 40 of those ideas are selected. Then these idea creators are  trained for 30 days in an incubation center where they will learn about business plan, cash flow, financial analysis and so on and so forth. At the end of all this, the ideas are presented to few investors, and if it looks promising to them, they are going to invest.

            I was pretty impressed with this idea and saw Anil Keshari Shah (renowned banker in Nepal) , Ani Choying ( the singing nun), Paras Khadka ( Nepal cricket team captain) and MAHA Jodi ( Hari Bansha and Madan Krishna Shrestha) to be associated with this initiative, which was a double assurance for me. All they said was this is a chance for the Nepali youth to persuade their dreams and ideas.

            Now if I start writing about what Ani said and what Paras said, it will get too long and will drift from what I REALLY want to write about. I have super huge respect for Ani Choying and Paras Khadka for what they have done for the country. Summing it up, their presentation was extremely heart touching and they know what they have done and they want to do for Nepal, being in Nepal.

            Now after such powerful presentation from such icons of Nepali society, comes Nisha Adhikari, the actress who had climbed the Mt. Everest in 2013. She came to stage with her story of her expedition. Now point wise I will tell you things I have noticed and I have immense dissatisfaction with.

Point no.1:- When you come as a speaker for such an event where you are considered as a youth icon and you are talking about national pride and integrity, please one thought on your attire wont harm. I know this is a very trivial thing, but wearing a skin fitted short one piece dress doesn’t look really nice on the stage. No matter how much you debate, a saree will always steal the show. DISAPPOINTED with the sense of dressing.

Point no.2:- I was already disappointed with the sense of dressing; on top of that she comes to the stage with a bunch of paper and pen. She looked unprepared, the first thing she says was “I don’t want to mess with the facts and figures, that is why I have it all written down here”. EXCUSE ME, she was told to prepare for this event over a month ahead, what was she doing then? I am sorry I might sound like a bad arse class teacher but to be in the same platform as Ani Choying and Paras Khadka, anyone needs to be super prepared. On top of that by the end of the presentation, I didn’t see her sharing any such technical term or jargons for which she needed that thick lot of papers.

Point no.3:- This is the funniest part, after talking for almost 20 minutes about her daily experience at the expedition, which was not even closely related to the event where you need to discuss IDEA…..she looks at the audience and says “I am sure most of you are lost by now”. Trust me I couldn’t believe she said that. 1200 plus people were there and it was a stunned moment for all of them. You are on the stage and the only one talking, and you yourself think that the audience is lost? Means it’s not their fault that they are lost…that also if they are lost….it is you who had to keep them captivated with the talks. And I guess she failed in that regard miserably!

Point no.4:- After baking such disastrous cake the cherry topping was, she generalizing the entire profession of journalists as useless and senseless for not working properly. I don’t know why she said that since it was not even relevant with the topic. Attacking on media when you are at a media program, with a lot of media there, it was nothing but a very dim-witted step to probably get cheap publicity. I actually missed out on that statement when my journalist friend sitting next to me, called her a name and said she has lost it!

Anyway, thank you for that voice that came from the balcony of the hall as an aakashwani crying “PUGYO” and very awkwardly she wrapped it up.

I loved the entire event and the speakers as well, very motivating and futuristic. I think it is an amazing initiative from a private sector to motivate the youth to stay in the country and do something to be self sustainable and improve the lives of others as well. Hopefully Nisha Adhikari will also learn from her mistakes and be a better well versed speaker next time.

१. चर्ममा टासिने १ पिस मात्रै लाएर निशाजी पाल्नु भो भन्ने हजुरको टाउको दुखाइ अलि हास्यास्पद लाग्यो| हाम्रा अति विद्वान बाबा श्री श्री श्री ६६३६ नास महाराज धिराजबाट हुकुम भए बमोजिम निशाजिको उमेरका महिला बर्गले जति कम कपडा लगाए त्यति उत्तम, जसप्रति हामी पनि सत प्रतिशत सहमत छौ| अर्को पालि १/२ वा १/४ पारदर्शी पिस लगाएर वहाको आगमन भए सुन माथि सुगन्ध हुन्छ भन्ने हाम्रो बिश्वास छ| सारी इज सो सत्ययुग क्या|
२. निशा अधिकारिजी जस्तो प्रख्यात् नायिका संग केहि कुराको अभाव छ भने त्यो हो समय| हजुरले एक महिना समय पाउदा पनि यस्तो चाला भन्ने गुनासो गर्नु भाको रैछ| यस्तो ब्यस्त नायिका संग यस्तो फाल्टु कार्यक्रमलाई कहिँ समय हुन्छ र? वहाले यसमा आउने निमन्त्रणा स्वीकार गर्नु नै आयोजक वर्ग र दर्शक वर्ग एकै चोटी धन्य हुनु हो भन्ने हाम्रो ठम्याइ हो| वहालाई एक महिना होइन २-४ बर्ष अग्रिम बुकिङ्ग गरे पनि खासै केहि फरक नपर्ला जस्तो लाग्छ|
३. निशाजिले २० मिनेट बोलेपछि "यु मस्ट बि लस्ट बाइ नाउ" भनेर निक्कै उद्दार कुरा गर्नु भो| यो त वहाको महानता मात्रै हो| २० मिनेट चाही होइन हामि जस्ता परेको भए त्यो चर्ममा टासिएको १ पिस देख्ने बित्तिकै लस्ट मात्रै होइन केहि घन्टाको लागि बेहोस नै हुन्थ्यौ भन्ने कुरामा दुइ मत नहोला|
४. निशाजी नेपाली मिडिया प्रति खनिनु बिल्कुल जायज कुरा हो| धन्य मिडिया त्यो दिन भाग्यमानि रैछ, नत्र त्यो अर्को दिन हाम्री अर्की बरिस्ठ नायिका अनि प्रखर वक्ता (बिशेष गरेर अंग्रेजी भाषामा) सुमिना घिमिरे जस्तै एक पत्रकार संग फोनमा अत्यन्तै कर्णप्रिय अश्लिल गालिको वृष्टि गर्नु भएन रैछ| कति पत्रकारको टाउको ठोकाठोक र क्यामेरा फोराफोर भएको हजुरलाइ पनि ग्यान होला, तर हाम्री निशाजीले आफु त्यो भन्दा निकै नै माथिको स्तरको हुनुहुन्छ भन्ने कुराको प्रमाण त्यो दिन दिनु भाको रैछ|
५. यस्तो कर्णप्रिय र मोहक दृश्य प्रदान गरिरहनु भएको हाम्री नायिकालाइ "पुग्यो" भन्ने भतुवालाई चाही कडा भन्दा कडा कारबाही गर्नु पर्छ भन्ने हाम्रो जोडदार माग छ|

ओहो सोम सोल्टी, यो त निशाको अल्लि बढी नै बखान भयो नि | कि सोल्टी पनि हाम्रो अर्को एउटा बांगे जस्तै अम्ब्रोसिया को मन जित्ने प्रयत्नमा हुनु हुन्छ || ह ?? :)

Hi Ambrosia,
I may be wrong, but my wild guess is, most of the speakers spoke in English, right?
There is one thing I have never understood about Nepalese speakers, celebrities, journalists etc. When you can very well express yourself in nepali, why do they see the need to speak in their broken English?
Ever been to Delhi international airport? Next time give your attention to the regular announcements that are in hindi. I was pleasantly surprised by their use of 100% hindi vocabulary. Only if Nepalese were doing this......

this girl acts like if she is Jennifer Aniston, she made fun of herself one time speaking english in a program with weird ascent, nobody cares about these Nepali celebrities

Live in tht airport for 10 hours as of my transit.....I love these indians for the pride they take in their language and culture.....btw Paras Khadka spoke in Nepal so did Ani Choying to some extend

let me be precise :

She said "Journalist haru le data manupulate garcha, jpt news chapcha so I stay away from it" well well, another topic to ponder upon. if she doesnt like the media, i would suggest her to stay mum on it, the more she speak, the more she will be dragged into controversies. besides she needs to get a life... tagging the industry cause for 2 or less people isnt good!

Yes on he other hand, I've been inspired by Paras Khadka's and Ani Choying's story.. In deed nth bothers paras khadka, no wonder he is the captain of the team, a well balanced man while Ani Choying's speech on how two men in her life affected her to be what she is..

to be honest, I love Nisha Adhikari. I think she's the only model I was infatuated with. She should be on Movies and songs, not on these shows.
