One piece of Momo consists of 70-80 calories w/o achar. So if a plate consists of 10 momo its basically around 800 calories plus calories of achar. Momos are high in sodium simply because of the amt of salt and the flavor ppl put on it. Talking bout fat it basically depends on what kinda meat momo u want. Pork consists of high unsaturated fats where as chicken has healthy fats. Momo is more of a protein than a carb diet because it's steamed and the amount of meat on it. It can be a good source of protein w/o achar on it.

1100-1300 cal per plate 8-10 pieces. Some use lean turkey so lower cal within the range and if people use more pork and fats then may be even higher. But I don't think, being a Nepali we ever cared. I usually am on diet but when momo comes I eat about 30 pieces.

the bigger question is: how much MSG in a plate of Momo in Nepal and even here in the US. There is no morals, ethics, or knowledge of MSG effects in Nepal. मिठो भन्दै खायो, १० डल्ला मोमो मा १ डल्लो जति त MSG को भाग लाग्छ होला |

I am not try to make fun of you but: 1) unsaturated fat = healthy fat. 2) Momo is a high carb and fat diet: based on amount of flour and fat it contains. (Smaller the momo .. more the wheat(carb)) (No scientific proof though.) 3) Steaming dough doesn't turn it into protein. 4) If you make soybean achar, it *might contain more protein than momo itself. Lets try to calculate calories in one piece of (50 gm) momo: Assume that 15 gms is bread/dough = 15X 95% carb = 14gms of carb. X 4.2 ~50cal 35 gms of keema = 25 gms of meat X30% protein ~ 8 gms of protein ~ 33 cals. 10gms fat X9 = 90 cal (Remaining spices onions etc and etc) ~ 20 cals. ~ 200 calories in one piece of 50 gms of momo. अड्डामा काम नभएर टाइम पास गरेको #अबस्था

दालभात खाए जस्तो बिहान बेलुकिनै खाने हो र momo ? हफ्ताको एक पल्ट खाने हो भने के को सोधिराखेको क्यालोरी ? अघाउने र डकार आउने गरि खाउ , नसोध क्यालोरी ? Pirka: his mom left him in his early childhood , raised by raged father, which you can see from his responses and posts.
