Why do people always look for cheap stuff but not least expensive?

May be because ppl think two are synonym.

It depends on the type of people you hang out with. If you hang out with people who are poor they will look for cheap things. If you hang out well to do people, they will look for least expensive stuff.

Actually, it's the opposite. Rich usually look for cheap stuffs for their everyday needs whereas sons/daughters of riches or the middleclass(show-offs) are the ones who look for expensive stuffs. Poor don't have options, lets not even go there. There is a reason, why riches are rich. They're bigtime misers.
