I have lived here almost 15 years of my life. Virginia is so conservative state. People are conservative. Bitter experience, a RedNeck Cop pulled over me on 35 speed limit telling me I was doing 55 because saw me with different color. I disputed, went to the court, White judge knocked out 15miles and charged me for remaining 5 miles and court cost, Still ended up paying almost the same amount of money. In everywhere, they treat you differently if you are from the different country. I am tired of living in VA, time to move elsewhere.

I do not encourage you to move in, unless you are offered a high-pay job.

Kool brother, I know they are everywhere, but here, they are more. Every public places/shops/stores, you go, not all but most of them even don't greet you well while the whites are well greeted just in front of you. That's the black and white fact in Virginia.

Virginia has a very varying cultural atmosphere. What you will experience in southwest VA is nothing like NoVA and in between. So it all depends where in VA you are.

Virginia is perfect place to live with plenty of opportunities for job and perfect weather (beside some snowfall in winter). Since most of the people here are immigrants, I don't see any discrimination based on color. Rent can be considered to be little higher but pay is better for skilled workers. For people who enjoy Nepali community believe me Virginia is the best place. There are some kind of programs and functions every now and then.
