Is it just me or is it really becoming harder to find and meet Nepali prospective dates who are genuinely interested in getting to know each other and would entertain the idea of settling down? You'd think with all types of online tools now available it should be easier, but it feels to me like those in that age group, with their low attention spans and such, are more interested in crafting their perfect online/social media imagery simply to show off to their Friends list.

What are the latest avenues in the US or in Nepal you are using to find someone in your age group to date if you are busy with work, travel to KTM and other cities often, and are not in a position to socialize frequently? I am finding that I can not rely on Shaadi.com or Sajha matrimonials to connect me with the type of people I would want to get to know and hang out with.

Are there other portals beyond these two that I should be looking at? Please share your success stories and how you went about doing it.

People get weird feelings when they know that you are judging them for marriage. I think a better idea would be to start a relationship with an open mind. See if you click with the person, spend some time and see if you guys see eye to eye. If you dont want to do that, then probably just tell your relatives about your marriage intentions. With so many people in the States someone will find you a girl. Best of luck.

Here's my thought based on some observations and data -

In Nepal, female to male ratio, within the age group of (25-35) years, is ~1.3
Assuming same ratio in the US one would expect there's a good chance of finding a partner, but not necessarily a match. Still makes most of us happy !
However, that's not the case. In Nepal, literacy rate of male is almost twice than that of female, cultural and socioeconomic dynamics another factor, including many other factors dictate immigration. And ultimately male/female population in US for the same age group of (25-35) years. There must be data somewhere, but for all intents and purpose same conclusion is still valid - male to female population ratio, of the same age group living in the US, is greater than 1. Note, this is quite the opposite from Nepal.
Simple supply and demand rule will exactly bring us to the topic of your discussion. Demand for female is unnaturally higher, so if you look around and even far within US it seems hard, specially if you've some set criteria then good luck !
So, it is not just you.
There are some matrimonial sites and bureaus in operation, but again for reasons already stated above and for some unknown reasons, there is no need whatsoever for a female to advertise herself using such platforms. That said, I still think there's a need for "one" exclusive platform, more legit, more personalized which can draw attention to majority of single population, enable network and connection.
This issue is also sort of natural in a sense that we chose to migrate and live in a foreign nation, hence the consequence.
