I am in a very different situation here.
My wife received her EAD but the TPS was delayed. Just a month ago we received notification that additional evidence was not supplemented and TPS was not granted. I never received this letter of additional evidence at my mail, not sure if it was not delivered or lost. But, the notice indicated that I can apply for a petition. I had submitted the required documents when I first applied TPS which wanted to mention in the peition and this cost extra $630 which is a lot.

Now, the reopened TPS designation has a special case where a late filing is allowed
1) so anyone who missed TPS application last year but were here in USA before June 24th, 2015 can apply.
2) It also has a statement indicating that the spouse of the individuals who are eligible for TPS can apply too.
I am thinking if any one can suggest if applying through 2nd category would be something good to go for.

I know it's costly to ask for a legal advise and the the contact personnel in USCIS won't give any opinion (this is how government services are).
Anyone in this kind of situation?
Any suggestions?
