IP Man, just so you know, if 485 case is pending more than 6 months you can raise a SR by calling customer service and it will be approved within 2 week. In your case it's already more than 6 months

Thanks guys for sharing! Mine (concurrent) pending since Nov. 2017. Not concerned too much but its good to share each other the timeline esp. under this administration (and there is mandatory interview required now). Keep sharing as you get updates!! Thanks again.

When I had GC, I didn't have to go through interview. It was in 2006.

@sajhamitra: Thats total time for prevailing wage and labor certification....prevailing wage itself takes about 3 months...need to advertise the position for at least a month and there are few other steps that takes some time...

IP Man , depends on when you filed. If you filed after March 6ht 2017 , its probably for going for an interview. If not they just load share the files and send cases from one service centre to another. Regardless, it could be a good sign as that means your case is atleast moving.

in my opinion.. if you can make it happen.. opt to greencard is best as stem opt has extension that should be enough time as usually 2 years seem like average time for nepalese gc process... h1b has lots of headaches.. i don't think there are many who has gotten gc straight from opt.. maybe those who has succesfully gone through that route can chime in..

@IPMan , the jurisdiction change is hopefully good sign. Sometimes, they just transfer the cases to another office when the service center is very slow . Usually for interview, it is transferred to local office . @Samrock, the cost mentioned is something I agree with. However, keep in mind that it is employers responsibility to pay for all h1b and gc related expenses. You are not suppose to pay any of this . @Itahariko, If your employer is willing to do gc directly from opt, you can go for it. But also try to get h1b. If i-140 or 485 gets denied, though low chance, h1b will be life saver. My case took more than 2 years starting from prevailing wages. 140 and 485 was concurrent. I-485 was approved a year after it was filed. Medical would have expired if it was 3/4 days late.
