Dreams are all our imagination. We can fly in our dreams.Destiny neva appeared distant if we can dream. But every dreams won't lift us to fly like a bird.Naiveness disappeared with the gain of maturity. As people grew up life introduced them to the reality."Reality" what a word ? ,it makes me confine, wonder and thrills in every moment of my life.

while walking the journey of life i came across many incidents.I had to deal with many pplz . life neva gave me the satisfaction as i had desired for ,though i was obsinate enuff to fight for it.My instinct were hardly confounded.Surviving wasn't a big deal to me but living life spiritually was always mine motto. My life wasn't free from hindrances, and obstacles ,but i was not easy giver too.Life has its own meaning and the destiny.

I was always facinated towards western life as every teenaged gal.why wouldnot i be? just imagine Hollywood flicks...how decoratively directors represent the teenage-life?...they simply show, their life rockz...i was deperately anxious to experience that life .It was so full of life to me.As pplz say we always perceive things as we wanted to,This is applied to me...its not only Hollywood movies reflect good part of life, they also tries to give a message about how hard pplz had to struggle to get better life but i was excessivly occupied to enojy good side of life and that struggle side disappeard in my eyes.Neva even bother to analyzie how tricky western life could be,i was always occupied to fantacize about its sophistication...i was that extremly into the best part , bad part was vanished from my vision.

Now ,here i am in the "reality".Facing the 24/7 western life.Away from my chilhood frens, college frens and everything. When i see in the mirrior, it reflects the vision i had when i was back to Nepal . Suddenly,My analytical mind becames alter and tries to talley the life i had figured out and the life i m moving through."oh Gush"!!!!!!its the only word which pumps in my mind when i remember past days and compare with the present situations .Seems like i have missed out some part of life somewhere. My brain arouse me questions about: is this want i was after ? is this what i have always dreamt for?the answers brust out as "shit" and just "sucks".

Imagination drastically differs from the Reality. If imagination should be faded one day then why to have it at all? "Anyway","whatever" - what type of words are they? the easy way to comfort mind and to escape from the "reality"....BTW ,what "reality" really means? What is the exact meaning of "Reality"?.umm...can anyone define it precisely? ,anyway....

Whatever...Time to confront real life vividly...trial is an alternative, ain't it?

Chetrini this is the thing that most teenagers ( non teenagers including dv people) experience after landing to the land of oppurtinity. No dobut most people are lured by luxuries things and the real part that the people from the developing world are facing is in the shadow. At this moment I want to recall what Einstein said - immagination is the most powerful thing. Right, without immagination nothing comes to real. In fact immagination and real things are exactly in a same place, just the different is immagination is at the starting and real things is at the ending. You are at the starting part so you are hunted by the reality and immagination is teasing you. Remember you are in the land of oppturnity, dont give up, you will soon end with the reality which governs your immagination.

When I saw this thread few weeks back, I thought to drop few words from my understanding and experience. However, could not make it due to time constraint until now. I hope my posting will be helpful to the originator of this thread as well as others who are eagerly seeking the answer of "what reality is".

Poster will come shortly, may be by tonight :).

What is reality? Really a nice question!

Reality has always been a ball of intellectual game for many people of all the time. People like to talk and debate about it. While doing so, they entertain themselves. So, for many people this question is like a clown to entertain them.

Those who are expecting theological answer of this question will be disappointed. I am sorry I couldn't develop myself to believe blindly on some unseen, unknown supernatural power, and buy the concept of being it to be the only real entity. I am a human being, who has a brain to think, analyze and judge. I will accept only those things which are logical, rational, scientific, and result giving. Rest of the things, I will love to put aside and will accept whenever they come to this category, that is, logical, rational, scientific, and result giving.

If I say reality is truth, that won't be wrong. However, reality that we perceive may not be the absolute truth. The truth may surprisingly vary for different observers and different frames of reference of the observer. Let me illustrate this point by an example.

Suppose; Chettrini is a woman, a beautiful woman whose beauty is praised by the words of the poets. Photographers never get tired to enclose her beauty inside their camera and she is an abstract imagination for painters. Everybody appreciate her beauty. Physical beauty is a truth perceived by our eyes. Anybody who has eye can't falsify the truth of physical beauty. This is one truth.

Let's cut a small piece of the skin form her beautiful cheeks, and put them under optical microscope. All you will see is the biological cells and the biochemical reaction inside them. This is another truth. The truth of beauty get disappeared inside the microscope.

Now take out that piece of skin from optical microscope and put it under the STM (Scanning Tunneling Microscope = an electron microscope which works under the principle of quantum tunneling), you will see atoms only. Where have those biological cells gone? Now beauty and cells both get disappeared inside STM. This is another truth.

contd.............

There is no instrument made yet to see subatomic particles. In future if scientists find such instrument, the same piece of skin will be manifesting in terms of electrons, protons and neutrons. Further sensitive instruments will take it to the level of quarks and then strings.

Beauty perceived by eye is a reality. Biological cells shown by the microscope are also reality. Atoms shown by STM are also reality. Subatomic particles are reality and their further components like quarks can also be reality.

Hundreds of thousands of poet and a painter had/have spent and will be spending their whole life running after the reality of beauty of the skin. Hundreds of thousands of biologists had/have spent and will be spending their life to catch the reality of the cells of the skin. Hundreds of thousands of physicists had/have spent and will be spending their whole life to study the reality of the atoms and subatomic particles of the skin.

A tiny little skin manifests itself in different realities.

This is just an example; every result giving thing is reality. If you are a businessman your business tricks are reality because they yield results. Your hard work in your field is reality. Art of an artist is a reality; discovery of a scientist is a reality; whatever you perceive through six sense organs is a reality. In fact, life of every individual is a unique reality. Every single day of life and every single moment of the day is reality.

There are so many realities in this universe to run after and spend the whole life. Surgeons spend their life to learn the reality of the human body and its disease. Engineers spend their whole life to learn the reality of some specific machines they are working with. Physicists spend their whole life to learn the reality of matter. Economists/Businessmen spend their whole life to learn the reality of the wealth; and so on so forth.

YOU CAN HOLD ONE REALITY AND SPEND YOUR WHOLE LIFE FOR IT. HOWEVER, IT MATTERS WHAT THAT REALITY WILL OFFER YOU DURING YOUR LIFE AND AT THE END OF THE DAY.

Contd.......

It will be unjust if I don't mention Buddha, the greatest teacher of the reality (at least for me :)). Out of traditional, cultural and religious belief, some people may not appreciate his name to be mentioned. However, he is in every single drop of my blood, even if I try to shadow him, I will not be able to.

Buddha is also known as "Tathagat" (= Tath+aa + gat = one who is established in reality). As a prince Siddartha he left home for the search of the truth. He found it and become Buddha and distributed without any discrimination. I would like to present here one event of his live.

One day Buddha was dwelling in a forest with his disciples. One of his disciples asked him how much knowledge did he (Buddha) have, and whether he reveled everything he knew to his disciple. Buddha grabbed some dry leaves of the tree which was shading him, and asked.

Buddha: Bhikkus, tell me how many leaves do I have in my fist?
Bhikkus: Very few, Bhagwan.
Buddha: How many leaves are there in this entire forest?
Bhikkus: Uncountable Bhante, so many.
Buddha: I know as much as the leaves of this entire Mahaban (= big forest). However I reveal as much as leaves I have in my fist. Do you know why?
Bhikkus: No Bhagawa.
Buddha: Because Bhikkus, I revel only the useful ones and useful ones are very little.

For the forty five years of his ministry he delivered 84000 discourses. In each and every single discourse he taught just two things.

1. This is suffering.
2. This is the way to come out of the suffering.

Indeed, suffering is the reality of life. Rich or poor, educated or uneducated, small or big, black or white, Nepali or American, this cast or that cast, this being or that being, doesn't matter. Suffering is the truth of life. The way to end the suffering is another reality. Buddha spent his whole life to encourage people to follow the path and end the suffering.

For me, worthful reality is to follow the path that ends suffering and get established in it. I want to live a happy and harmonious life, that's why I want to spend my life walking in the path which brings them to me.

IT DOESN'T MATTER WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT YOU HAVE. HOWEVER, IT MATTERS HOW YOU LIVE, MISERABLY OR HAPPLY.
