Let me start by saying "Nepali CAs are the worst in CA profession." They don't know about ethics. They do know about money.Well,a question arises, if so why they are so recognised in the society. The reasons are 1) We don't have many CAs 2) There is no market for CAs.3) Whoever pass the CA and ACCA from India and UK,they don't want to return back because there is no such kind of company to be signed by CA or CPA. And you can't compare the CPA with Nepali CA. There is vast....vast difference between them. About recognition, US CPA has world wide recognition except Nepal because there are some people who don't know what the US CPA is. There are two or three CPAs in Nepal.Although they are not recognised by ICAN(reglatory body) they are doing wonderful job there earning hard cash. So it depends what kind of life you want ,but lemme tell you one thing,ur fren's got to have gut to pass the CPA.

Depends upon where does your friend want to work in future. If he wanna be in Nepal - go for CA and if not then to CPA. In reality there is no comparision but as Nepali market is filled with CAs, ofcourse they dominate. I hardly see CA on top position as they lack management skills. But as earlier friend wrote - one has to have guts to clear CPA on time.
