It might seem fancy for some but for most of us in sajha, seeing hindi words in the posts is just distressful. I don't know what some of these guys feel, but it's more stupid as it's deteriorating our language and culture. I know it's hard to be unaffected with the big ass courtry next to us but least we can limit ourself in the public forum as SAJHA so as not to emphasize it further and destroy our heritage altogether. So please, let's start and be proud of being a Nepali.

Kiwigal, I do know the gist of this thread, you didn't get it did you? All I wanted to say was it is ones right to speak whichever langauge he wants, no "dui maat" in this. But speaking Hindi inside Nepal should have been reciprocated by speaking Nepali by Indian. this never will happen. Why, any Indian who meets a Nepali, no matter where, easily assumes he will know Hindi and start speaking in Indian. Well, for the fellow Nepalese working in India, it is a necessity to speak Nepali. But, for us inside Nepal, why the hell we can't converse with the tarkariwalla in Nepali if a watchman in India has to resort to speaking in Hindi to his landlord? Bathroomcoffe, no one is imposing anyone to or not to speak Hindi. Read my thread, I also agree that the title of the thread is not politically correct. But how many Indians, firends with Nepalese speak in Nepali. Do they even respect our language? And yes I also have enough with this baseless discussion. Now a Nepali sajhaite have started abusing "verbally" another sajhaite Nepali for the sake of their preference for foreign language. What the f** is wrong with you guys? Chow Yang you couldn't have said it better. Bidhan is correct. Why can't we start potraying our identity better. Can we learn a bit from fellow Nepalese in Darjeeling? It is all about promoting and giving preference to our language while enjoying our privilege to use others.

Dear Amazing, Sujanks and other fans of Hindi, You don't need to communicate in Hindi as all other people visiting this website are able to understand Nepali or English. You people are using your knowledge of Hindi in wrong place. There are thousands of other websites where Hindi is the language of communication. I am not against Hindi or any other language, but anybody would feel offended when a person deliberately speaks a language that most people around him do not understand rather than a language that everybody understands.

Dear another nepali, Thanks for comment we r not using Hindi with those who dont want, Remember i talk in Hindi with very close frens of mine in Sajha (e.g.Dalli Resham, Worldmap) and its FUN. i think ive not offended our dear Nepali daju bhai didi bahini. On the other hand, i think its not bad if u speak in Hindi here in Sajha as its SABAI KO SAJHA.... and nepali dude, dont get wrong impression that Im in love with India just because i speak Hindi, U know I hate Indian govt dominating policy towards Nepal. there r many examples like LAXMANPUR ko BAANDHA, TANAKPUR, and so on and forth but It has nothing to do with speakin Hindi language. Commn, just feel free to speak whatever language u can. OK have a nice day cool another nepali. Regards One more Nepali Amazing

I support Another Nepali: We guys being born in Nepal and staying else where should either use Nepali or English, Nepali being your own language and English being the International. It really bothers me when I listen Hindi songs in those Nepali homes or apartments in US. What other people would think? Do they think that you are a Nepali? Can you guys think of any other citizens/nationals who would listen/speak second foreign (language you speak other than the country of your stay) language in first foreign (place you stay) country?? It is somewhat understandable Hindi influence in Nepal. But people staying elsewhere using Hindi in public platform such as this is really frustrating at least to me.

Raazstone is the most arrogant person i have ever seen. How can you say that? are you a nepali? Do you know nepal? or are you kathmanduits.. have you travelled inside nepal at all? Man, this tells you what is the level of your understanding.. There are over over 5 million people living inside nepal who speak hindi. And there are 5 million nepali who are in india to earn money who speak hindi in india.. And India is our closest neighbour whether you like it or not.. Are you aware of all this? and why do you hate hindi? because you don't like india??? Hahahaha... stupid.. look what BUSH spoke about India and Indians... Look how is India respected in the world stage thesedays.. Do you wanna just deny that and live inside your own narrow community?? well.. i don't want to say more to you.. i guess this is just enough for you.. you damn arrogant.

Language is a mode of communication! At times people may use foreign language to pass a comment or two - just for the heck of it. I wish I could speak French, Spanish, Japanese, and Chinese and so on and so forth. I am kind of taking Chinese tuition though ;). Even while studying in India, we hardly spoke in Hindi with our Indian pals, but if we had to communicate in certain places, we would. Being able to communicate in different languages is an advantage on us. Nepali would always be our first love - no doubt. We can make Nepal proud by other stuffs -working hard our personal success so as it trickles down to our mother land. I am afraid; I just have to voice that nationalism vis-a-vis hatred for others do not take us anywhere. Rest - to each, their own. IndisGuise:) P.S: Sitara ko naam aru saab ta thik cha bhuichapakali chai hundaina. Maile arulai nai disakeko ho tyo naam pahila :(. But "Chi-tara" sounds just fine to me. I think chitara is a beautiful name:p

despite some harsh comments from some, i am really delighted to see the overwhelming support for this national cause from the sajhaites. As i said earlier this is one of the several potential national hazards, they don't look such a big issue now but you can imagine yourself how the situation's gonna be if we keep on promoting these things....like being at the verge of losing our national identity (god forbid not). One thing it's nice noticing is that we all love our nation, our languages and our cultural heritage, even from the critics.

>>..like being at the verge of losing our national identity (god forbid not). One thing it's nice noticing is that we all love our nation, our languages and our cultural heritage, even from the critics. Kudos to your patriotic feeling but you dont get it do you? What is nationality? What is patriotism? Please understand those before you shut down doors on any language. If you are so worried about Hindi influencing Nepali, why arnt you worried about the influence of American/European language/culture?? I also see that you only use English. Why? You should only write in Nepali nothing else.. You write in English, tell people not to Use Hindi and use Nepali, don't that make you a hypocrite??

>>> Despite some harsh comments from some, i am really delighted to see the overwhelming support for this national cause from the sajhaites. Great is your national cause as yourself. Shame on you guys that even when thousands of people are going to india because of maoist voilence you think you have served national cause by speaking one of the languages of nepal. Speaking any language makes little difference to the harsh realities in nepal better cure misguided partiotism and do something for the people who are suffering. PEACE.
