Apart from the political breakthrough in Nepal , I would like to thank BBC Nepali's Khagendra Nepali for his tremendious service on behalf of the listeners from all around the world for even more than 2 decades as he retired from the service today. I dont remember the point of my life when I heared his voice, but his nostalgic voice will keep on mesmerizing me of important breakthrough that our country faced within this period. He used to be on our radio during 1990's movement when whole of our family used to gather around the radio to listen to the only free media in the form of BBC. Clearly his voice had been a part of our memories and still will remain within us through out our life. I wish him all the success for the rest of his life, Sense

I had an opportunity to meet him in Biratnagar back in 1993 when I was in 10th grade. The BBC Nepali service was transmitted from our school for one night. He was a nice guy, I still have his autograph with me :-) I wish him all the best.

I will be missing him too. I salute him for his courage while leading BBC/nepali during so many difficult times in the history, including this one. Let's hope that Rabindra Mishra and others will continue serving Nepali people's interests and aspirations.

Khagendra Nepali joined the BBC World Service's BBC Nepali service as its first full-time Producer in June 1979 and became its Head in 1996. Under Khagendra Nepali the BBC Nepali service has covered many national events ranging from the killings of the Royal Family to the ongoing Maoists rebellion, filing reports for BBC audiences in Nepal and across the world. In 1999 Khagendra Nepali co-ordinated a fortnight of live broadcasts from Nepal for BBC Nepali's 30th anniversary. For the first time the service met and talked to its listeners face-to-face, reporting from the length and breadth of the country. Before coming to the BBC Khagendra Nepali worked for the Ministry of Education of Nepal. During his 27 years service he did superb job, i always respect him I wish him all the best
