Nepal: Maoist Militia Torture Man to Confess Murder of Living Wife Kathmandu, October 18: A group of Maoist militiamen have inflicted torture on a man in Kavre, forcing him to confess murder of his own wife who is still alive and fine. The militias abducted 44-year-old Man Bahadur Tamang from his home village in Dolalghat-1 on Saturday and tortured him overnight at a house in Teenpiple, Panchkhal, forcing him to confess that he had killed his wife. His 16-year-old son, Nirmal, was also taken away and beaten at a separate room, report reaching here said. Villagers said the militia had abducted Tamang along with his second wife Chitra Kumari and son Nirmal, after he had a tiff with his first wife Dolmaya five days earlier (Oct 10). Dolmaya went to her uncle's place after a tiff with her husband but the militiamen forced him to confess that he killed her. "I couldn't bear the torture, so I confessed that I killed her after a tiff," Tamang was quoted by Kantipur daily as saying at a police station in Dhulikhel. He said he was tortured and whipped by door-rod, with both his hands tied backward. Eyewitnesses said they saw bruises in the bodies of Tamang as well as his son. The newspaper also quoted Dolmaya as saying that she had frequent disputes with her husband after he married a second wife two months back. She said she heard over the radio that Maoists had caught him and forced to confess having killed her. "Soon I contacted the Maoists but they held me too and handed to the police," she said. Police released all the family on Monday. A Maoist district secretary said Tamang might have suffered torture in course of investigation.

This is the kind of stuff that probably makes the people living abroad think a million times before they even get close to deciding whether they can consider returning back to their motherland, Nepal and of course put their parents in a big dilemma even to ask their own kids to come back. I dont know what could be the motive behind abducting kids and women, they are probably some sick psychos, perverts or pedophiles..and of course our police dept is full of chhakkas (god knows how their women and children can ever respect them).. It's just too much. One can do anything in the mask of being a maoist and police would turn a blind eye to such acts without even figuring out whether they are maoists or someone else. Well it has been taken for granted that maoists have the license to kill or abduct anyone, so wouldn't it be good that when they come for such abductions it is made mandatory that they show some kind of identification or file a abduction application in police ( home ministry) stating where they are going to abduct from and who and how many,,so that people can atleast be sure that it is indeed maoists that are abducting them..and may be this would give some balls to our chakka police officers to take action against those who come for abductions without a proper maoist identification..

Hey guys its not the police fault because if they do anything to stop the maoists then the leaders would find the police at fault and waive maoists, so tell me in that case would you as a police stop the maoists?

this is not police fault ..police cannot be blamed for anything when home minister and govt is responsible for these incident.. it is very clear ..Govt cannot take good stand against them ..This SPA govt is HIJADA..losers !!!!!These maoist needs to be killed ..why compromise ..how much can you give them slack..it is getting too much..Have these maoist followed any agreements. They are just chor and daku instead of a political force..International community will never accept them.
