Friends Let us try this one. THe gas price sucks. Do something. Read what happened in 1997

IT IS WORTH A T

NO GAS...On May 15th 2007
Don't pump gas on MAY 15th

In April 1997, there was a "gas out" conducted nationwide in
protest of gas prices. Gasoline prices dropped 30 cents a gallon
overnight.

On May 15th 2007, all internet users are (requested) to not go
to a gas station in protest of high gas prices. Gas is now over $3.00 a gallon in
most places.

There are 73,000,000+ American members currently on the
internet network, and the average car takes about 30 to 50 dollars to
fill up.

If all users did not go to the pump on the 15th, it would take $2,292,000,000.00 (that's almost 3 BILLION) out of the oil companies pockets for just one day, so please do not go to the gas station on May 15th and lets try to put a dent in the Middle Eastern oil ndustry for at least one day.
If you agree (which I cant see why you wouldn't) resend this to
all your contact list. With it saying, ''Don't pump gas on May 15th"

If it could work, it might be worth a shot. Unfortunately, according to this article, it wont work and here's why: - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18492185/

Aye aye captn. It's possible that the writer at msnbc.com has stock in eXXon or other oil companies :) and he's trying to deter people from the Gas Strike.

In any case, thinking rationally, the gas strike probably won't have much impact because you abstain one day but you have to make up for it pretty soon. What would really make an impact is if people who drive cars make an effort to take public transportation to work or perhaps carpool.

Hi Ratobhaley -

LOL! Who knows -maybe he does!? :P ha ha ... True, I mean like it says in the article, a cut in actual consumption - versus just not refuelling - if anything , might have had a good chance at making miniscule dent. I mean the gas has already been purchased and they are not expecting to hold onto excess inventory in any way. But I guess it's almost summer time which mean high gas price time and creative dissent time (bless their souls even if this means nothing significant)

:)

it's simple math.

if you're not gonna get it today, youll need it tomorrow. One day's less profit wont hurt a company's balance sheet.

Simple.
