i recently applied for an US marine corps.. and i was selected and i have to join the training in CAMP pendleton, CA. I m wondering if any of u guys have trained for Us marine in Pendleton, CA ..
i have to join the school on august 26th... so any information from u guys will be highly appreciated..

I've been serving in US Air Force for over 3 yrs. Comparing to other services, Air Force has more family life. Even if you get deployed, you'll be working inside wires. But if you wanna make money, you might wanna join marine, army or navy; they also offer good bonuses.

Comon guys! Gurkhas need to upgdrade themselves. Try on medical or engineering regiments than on centuries old frontline fighters.

Not a good time to join marine right now. You will shipped out with only 6 months of training to Iraq. Don't do it. Join Navy or US airforce. Don't join Army also.

i want to join the army or marines but how can i join or be recruited?
i wanna go to iraq and afghanistan. my friends from the british gurkha regiments are there in iraq and afghanistan and would be happy to see me.

u serious??? it's easy dude... just go to your local army recruitment center, marine recruitment center should be at the same spot. dude, don't forget to ask for bonus and shit like that. by the way, training is tough but don't worry, for gorkha it aint shit...

sajhakohero , if u have no idea how to join the army etc , after all the news happening around u , then i guess there is a reason why army declines recruites .. Man ! walk up to a mall and u'll see recruiters all over . If u still cant figure out what to do ,then dude u really need to join US army ( the dumbest army ).U'll juss fit in right with the crowd and the moron bush as ur chief ....

Last year, 2 of my co-workers had enough of this 12 hr a day banking shit and decided to join the corps (one in the Air Force and other in the Marines). After boot-camp, the fellas were back at work again (as the Bank had to hold their jobs until they got back). This year, one of them was sent to Senegal (not a war zone) for training and yes, his job had to be held for him again...However, he kept complaining how hard it is for them as compared to the Air Force and Navy guys (or the Gay Force and the Gay-vy). The Air Force guy was deployed to Turkey and had only the best things to say about the unit: A/C in the tents, good food, etc. while the Marine who went to Senegal complained of their basic Spartan life: Mostly in the sun, full gear and even the food wasn't all that great.

Since I'd expressed an interest once in recruiting myself, as per the both of them, if you're ever looking to join, make sure you know exactly what you wanna do and make it known from the start (also finding a good recruiter helps)...You don't wanna be stuck in the administrative dept when you really wanna be fighting in the frontline. Also, if you're just looking to reap the benefits without much chances of gettting deployed into the war zone, then joining the Air Force is a better option.

Batas Ji,
The basic pay for E-1 - $1300.00
Food Allowance - $280.00 with dependent & $250.00 w/o dependent
Housing Allowance - differ from place to place but you'll be given a option to live on base or off base if you have dependents. If you are single, you'll be stuck in dorms atleast for three years.
Language Pay - If you could pass the Hindi language test, you would be entitled for extra $400.00 every month.

by the way everyone was right above .. u don't need a college degree to join marine corps, US army , US army reserve or anything.. they just hire u if u got AT least green card or citizen .. F1 are not allowed.. I was in US army for about a year then i left it.. NOW i have to join marine again cause i was tired of doing night sifts in gas station and SAM's club..
one of my turkish fren suggested US marine corps.. he told me its pretty much good..

I am almost done with my 4 years in NAVY and after that I am going to be in Reserve for another 2 years. It's fun dude if you are alone. Be ready for any thing though.
