HI Guys !
I am planning to apply for canada PR if i will not get selected in h1b. If we are not getting this year how can we expect for next year. So it's better to apply canadian PR as a backup option.
So can anybody share their experience for all the required documents. It will be great if somebody can post a checklist. Currently my status is
1.Masters degree holder(25points)
2. Real Time Experience (2+yrs)...but can make 4+ to get full points(21 points)
3. Haven't appeared in IELTS yet but will do very soon(16 points)
4. Age: 28(10 Points)

Folks, Just try to peek outside from windows. Even you approvided for H1B, still you get nothing for another 4-5 years. The reason is, to get green card, minimum you have to wait 5 years based on current processing time.
What you get in Canada? - well, if you are same capable as in US, you get same job, salary range and better life than USA. - I spent almost nine 9 years in US and finally tired from that Green Card processing, I moved to Canada and settled down in one year which I could do in 9 years in US. - I have seen lots for nepalese migrating directly from Nepal to Canada. Almost 90% of them are settling down in 2 years period. What's that mean of settling down? - getting job, buying home and vacationing. Is this possible in USA? - 100% NO. - What you get in Canada after PR? Peace of mind. Really? YES YES YES. I brought my mom sponsoring, which approved in 3 years. All family lives in together in big house. I got similar job what I used to work in US. More job secure than in US. So, what do you need more? - Income value - look at the currency rate - almost equal. Environmentally friendly. More social assitance for immigrant, health care free etc. etc. - I suggested many friends who lives in US to apply for Canada. They are all reluctant to do? I ask them WHY. They likes to lingering around their future in USA. I don't know why. I had similar experience. Now I learnt from my past. So, I am explaining you people. Take a right step. Don't delay.

danphe you still need work visa.
Australia is not another choice. You can get AUS PR much faster than Canada. IT job market is not bad in Australia.

Hi All,
Do you know Canada is one of Best place to live in the world? (USA is not even ranked).
Canada is almost like USA. There is no difference in system, companies, job etc. etc. People used to call North America. Also you can see most of advertising paper says" Valid in USA and canada only". What that means, Canada is pretty much the way of USA - all system - just think that way. I don't see much different from USA except different current currency and different National flag. It is seems like one of another State in US.
Opportunity - Canada is also a land of opportunity as USA. Canada has also many international people from around the world. You just name it. Big country north of USA, that's all.
Jobs - Same as in USA, All IT jobs, Financial, bank jobs are there. They need IT people as USA. All US companies in Canada as well. Canada has also work permit system like in USA. You can obtain seasonal work permit if you need to. If you can prove you are good in job, getting job is not a problem. But there is always a competition.

Guys, You have everything in your fingertip. You are asking so many straight forward questions about immigration. Have you ever looked into the Guide that is downloadable from the immigration website? It is good to take advise in some difficult times, but do your own research too for your best decision. Just visit the side www.cic.gc.ca and find whatever you need. everything is there. -cost/fee -point system and explanation -sponsoring family -processing time -you can even test your PR qualification (take sample test) -English requirement and IELTS band score -Classified work (NOC - National Occupation Classification) Canadian PR is like filling a form to apply for a job. It's that simple. You just need to gather some documents, that is the work experience letter (which you do for recommendation for job too) and police certificate. You are done.

Hi Guys, My Application was filed for H1-B( I am an undergraduate). But, due to a change of address, I lost the OPT card and had to reapply, and finally received it 2 weeks ago. Even without it( OPT Card) , the application was sent. My Question is , will the application be rejected without an OPT card for H1B, processing?

Folks,
If you are studying in US, I believe you don't have to take IELT training. Your academic proves you are proficient. I did not take it, though. Only primary applicant has to prove it. Wife does not.

Chicago, It's not the way how you think or I think. It's the way how the immigration officer thinks. You don't need to take IELTS test before applying in any case. Just wait for the first response to come after you apply. Then you will exactly know what to do, take test or not. My friend has MSc from Canada and doing PhD there and still they asked him to take IELTS. Some other friends did not need to take IELTS. It's random. Kasle ho wife ko sodheko thiyo, pardaina Spouse le IELTS test dina.

Canada is good place to live. Canadian cities like Vancouver, calagary, Toronto is considered as best place to live in the world where as US cities comes far behind due to chances of terrorist attack. US immigration really sucks...retrogression kahile khulne ho nobody knows......even H1b approved ,there is hassle in getting greencard.... these days US currency and canadian currency value is equal..
English test I think its individual case kasailai magirakheko chha kasai lai chhina..so always be prepared to give test .When i did they didn't ask for english test and i applied when i was in F1 status two years ago. Ahile mero saathi haru apply garne sabai lai english test dinu parchha bhanera pathayeko chha..and they are US graduate too. So be prepared for that .

Guys i am dying to find a shelter in usa or canada. it's been ages since i parted with my family and it is all boiling down to misery. when i see messages like this my hope goes up high. I am here with a simple question and would be very delighted if you guys could give me your 2 cents.
My situation is I have been living in Usa in f1 status. So i only worked inside university for you know on cafeteria on helpdesk and on some basic IT stuff. when i got opt i worked for like 9 months in a company doing some semi-decent job and since i couldn't get my h1, i went back to school to do my mba. I am few months away from my mba and totally worn out with the h1b and green card crap. I want to be with my old parents , which is more important than anything. cuz yu know we all have pareants and we maybe able to get green cards and citizenships but you can't get another set of parents... so if not canada i'm gonna go back to Nepal.. In the mean time i think i should try out all my options.
So if you guys know any tricks of the trade please let me know how i can show my experence...
u can email me by pressing that envelope icon by my " kalopani" user name..
