Nepe When was the last time you went to nepal. Trust me a guy with that position didn't have that kind of power back in the day either. And besides everyone is coming to a conclusion by listening to one side only. I understand women are opressed in our society, what if this woman was cheating on her husband? What if she was sleeping around when he was at work??

She seems to be abused but let the husband speak too, you are innocent untill proven guilty. Nepe bro chorera PHD leko ho ki kaso??? Without hearing the debate from the both side everyone is trying to blame that dude. What if this woman is lying to get rid of her husband so she can marry her lover!!!!

just to think about it. Jabo Krishi Adhikrit ko yeto haisiyat, sara tole nai darauney... Nepe get a life.. you are full of propaganda.

and Raman there is nothing to be ashamed off.. life happens.. things like this happen all over the world. Nepal is no acception. You should shame on opening Disco's in nepal, you should be ashamed there are Nude bars in nepal, you should ashamed there are brothels in nepal. This is a domestic dispute, what is there to be ashamed off.. crap happens'.

I like the way Sampada explained.

I don't think a girl will keep on accepting abuse from her husband just to get rid of married life.  This girl seems to be in desperate need of  help, that is why she is asking for help. Especially in our country, women who are abused hardly go outside and ask for help, fearing of society. This girl is brave to do so, do you think this girl wants to make her own kids father look this bad infront of reporters if she was not abused?  She most have thought of her society, her kid,her parents before proceeding this steps.

And abuse is abuse, and  this girl's husband has no right to abuse her physically. It is wrong.

Abslutely it is shame that nobody was there to help a victim. Such is our society. Just a reminder that we have a long way to go to change our old habits.

If they can do that in foreign land, what are the chances they will NOT do it in Nepal.

I think women is absolutely wrong. If his husband is govt. officer, he can;t do like this. Another thing no body will afraid with govt any officer.

There is some polticies mix.

It doesn't matter what is behind the scene but I think govt should look into the case. the women is brave to stand up N hope she ill get a justice,  I underestand what Raman meant when he said, shame of being Nepali. I don't think its appropiate to attack Raman for his anger regarding the news. But we should thanks to him to inform us about the incident that is happening N can happen to our own sisters N frens...

RRR, what do you think informed Nepalis are going to do about this matter? may i ask what are you going to do, since you're informed now? Raman is wrong. We Nepali people did not vote for her husband to beat her up, if the incident was true. Hence, we can not be held responsible for what her husband did( or not). it is like, you can't watch court tv. with some drunkard beating up his wife and base everyone in usa is a wife beater.

I find it exteremly hard to believe this story. Nepali people are not scared of section officer living in a rent working for agricultural dept. if it was police beating up her or ycl i would take it , but a civilian beating up a women in a street , dragging by her hair, no man Nepal is not like Indian movie yet.              But i can't say she's wrong either, but if i were a judge i would think many times before i rule out a decison for this case.

truly some of you people posting on this thread must be idiots. how can you point at a woman being beaten by her husband and say you feel sorry for the husband? it must have taken her an amazing amount of courage to come out and tell the world what is being done with her. i applaud her courage.

husbands and wives fight, that normal and healthy for the relationship, but the line must be drawn somewhere. if i met this guy in the street i would jagaltyaing him.

Guys,

Just like to tell you something about this story, as you guys are making a very good point and I think this inside story about their marriage life contribute a lot to judge the case.

Part-1,

I have known this krishi adhikrit Rajesh Giri from long time. He is originally from Khotang, Haleshi VDC. He was in Jilla sahakari karyala in Udaypur and he used to have a physical relationship with office cleaner, in Government residency, everyone recognise this MOFO in Gaighat, Udaypur. Everybody hates this guy in his office. Ask any people in Gaighat they will say 'oh that Bastard'. After that he got transfer in Lalitpur sahakari karyala he was a hamik over there. He is jadiya number 1, he loves playing cards and sleeping with prostitute. He was a regular customer of dance restaurant in pulchok, baneshwor. The govn quarter in lalitpur was like brothel. He ask wife to go maiti so that he can sleep with prostitute. He is number one arrogant I have ever seen. He is sex sick. He needs sex at any cost. He is like Austrian man who raped his daughter.

B4 that he was in Solukhumbu as an Asst CDO. In remote district normally all the gov. employees gather in one place and play cards and drinks tharra. This is usual in remote area. One day the manager of Rastriya Banijya Bank was beaten by this MOFO krishi officer (Rajesh Giri, then Asst CDO). He got transfer in Udaypur and got Nasihat patra from Home ministry.

jaha jaha yo man6e saruwa bhayera jan6a sab thau ma yesko yestai badnami 6a.

One thing is very sure he is genius and he was a cream student in his schooling - college. He got first division in B. Com and Masters. He passed loksewa and he was a section officer when he was 25. He was trying for Under Secretary and narrowly failed in oral exam. That means he passed written examination for Under secretary. I'm sure, sooner or later he will pass this exam and he don’t need to wait for badhuwa, like other incompetent people. Appreciable progress, isn’t it??

Part-2,

When he got married with this lady, she is my neighbour and her brother is my friend. I remember when my mom said Giri ko chhori is getting married with section officer. Initially I was not aware she is getting married with this nasty, arrogant. When I knew my reaction was Oh My God!!!

I was there in their engagement day. It was in Itahari and sometime in 2057. This guy was so nasty. He talked like bada hakim. And his behaviour was complete fake. He demanded everything and said food should be from hotel chef. Wine / beer are compulsory. Surprisingly, in front of everyone He asked his prospective father in law to book the good hotel for Janti. He said "mero biha ma DIG, DSP, CDO, LDO, businessman  janti aau6an bahir jaha payo tehi sutaune kura aayena tapai haru le Itahari ko ramro hotel book garnu par6a"

Apparently, poor giri family did everything what he said. I know they spent around 10 lakh in that marriage.

Guys, he is a sex monster. When she was young, beautiful he loved her. She was treated very nicely after one and half year their marriage life was very fragile and now came publicly. I'm known everything about their marriage life.

Part -3,

She was so naïve. She is not talkative. She was doing BBS then. She had a very limited frns in campus. Im her junior but also I know all these things. Now a day's most of the guys have love affair before marriage. And no one cares about that as long as they are honest after marriage. Dating and breaking is normal, anyway.

Let me tell you she didn’t have any BF in her school / college when me and most of my frns had a GF / BF. I mean she was exceptional. She is not a person who can cope double life after marriage. I can't imagine when you guys arguing 'may be she is willing to marry with her Bf and divorce current marriage life.' No, testo hunai saktaina. Personally I ruled out this hypothesis.

Part-4,

Coincidence,

I was working for a Agricultural Development Bank in Rajbiraj and I knew this guy. He was working in Udaypur and their regional office was in Rajbiraj. Many of my colleagues recognised him. Once I visited Udaypur and knew more about him. After that he married to my neighbour. After that I went to Kathmandu and I got a transfer in lalitpur Branch. Their office bank account and all the staff accounts were in that branch. Apart from this mofo I had a very good relation with all the staff. They used to tell the entire story. Staff knew everything because he used to live in upstairs, office resident.

Conclusion,

This Rajesh Giri was not happy with her. Nevertheless, he first saw her in one biha party and subsequently asked her parent and got married. As soon as he found she is GHAR KI MURGI DAAL BARABAR and he couldn’t execute his lust, He wanted to get rid from this innocent lady. He wants to marry someone else. I'm sure he is playing with many others and he is having nice time with prostitutes. He is polygamist. This is truth. He is not a family man. I feel very sorry for this innocent lady. Bichara sukera had 6ala matrai baki rai6a. she was quite moti.

I think the title of this thread is not so appropriate, rather provocative. But the message and his (Raman) anger are justifiable. We should be unified against this kind of domestic atrocities.

If a cyclist hits a pedestrian, we blame cyclist,  .... if a motor bike hits a cycle, we blame motorbiker ... on and on and on. We don't need a reason to start a blame game ...... basic principle is "always blame the relatively powerful". Its a strange world that we live in where violence is justified by violence, and is always reasonable when it is committed by "ME". As porcelina proudly said

"if i met this guy in the street i would jagaltyaing him"

I don't see any differnce between that husband and you. Isn't  it the same thing that the wife claimed her husband to have done. No offense to you please porcelina, you were carried away by her plight but we are what we are brought up with "Garbage in, Garbage out"

Long story short, we should stop jumping to the conclusion ....... listen to her again ... It seems all hyped up ... "nari diwas ko din ...... , mero chora behos ...... , ma mare pani ......" sounds like a movie clip. She talks about people getting scared ...... is she kiddin ....... makes me laugh visualising "people getting scared with section officer of some krishi bank who lives in rented room" ...... above all she doesnot have a single sign of acute physical abuse. Looking at the way she is talking I bet that she would show to all if she had even a small scratch.

By all this please do not take me as a male chauvinist prick. I believe the husband shouldnot go unpunished if he is the dowry hungry bastard as she claims, otherwise we should be cautious coz many people use their weakness as their best weapon.

Taruni,

I am not male chauvinist bhandai ... male lai support garchhau.... I agree that we should hear the two side of story ... but if someone goes physical.... it ends there... finish... Maybe the girl has exaggerated the story a little... but tell me how many of you honestly feel that she didnt undergo the things she has described... husband beating wife is common site in Nepal... logne swasni ko jagada ma naparum bhanera dhoka thunne ni common thing in Nepal.... Bato bato ma kutera lagne logne le ke kotha bhitra hunda soshan garena bhanna sakchhau??? ra yadi that educated bastard really didnt have done that ... then hadn`t he made his clearification and sued the Nepalnews.

ritthe jasus,

the government exists to run the administration of the country, not punish the criminal. the criminal justice system exists to determine the guilty. law of the land spells out punishment. prison authority supervises the jail sentence.

lets keep things in context. Also, its about time Nepali ppl got rid of the 'government ko mookh taakne' attitude.

I still say I am not male chauvinist ....... maile bhanna khojeko yetti matra ho ki we should know both sides of the story before jumping into conclusion. I had not read taruni's column when i expressed my view. The only benefit of doubt she had was "she wouldnot have made the issue public, if the treatment was bearable"

Now we know how that dude is ....... end of story. He needs to be punished. More over, wife beating is not confined to Nepal, its a global issue ..... and only proper education or punishment (to those who do not understand even after being educated) can solve this. Nepalnews has nothing to do with the issue, they are merely covering the news, not claiming anything. Good day !

Axara,

I believe judiciary is also a part of govt. Thanks for microscopic differentiation. As you said keep things in context ...... what to do in this situation govt ko judicial system ko mukh natakera .......... ki YCL le jastai sabai lai nyaya didai hidne ........ If you trust ur govt, govt will be more effective ....... if not ..... yo situation ma govt ko mukh natakne ho bhane nepal will always be mob ruled nation.

Why should all Nepali be ashamed of ONE Nepali? The only person to be ashamed is this Giri guy . We CANNOT take responsibility for other fellow countryman. We do need a stricter law system in Nepal, however.
