Congratulation to Kamal Adhikari for breaking his own Nepalese national record 266 Kg (Snatch 113 Kg + Clean and Jerk 153kg) and setting new Nepalese national record 268 Kg (Snatch 114kg + Clean and Jerk 154 Kg) on Men 69kg Weightlifting category. I watched him live while he was competing in preliminary and his attempts were very impressive based on the fact that he had injured his back in the Asian Weightlifting Championship held in Japan earlier this year. He successfully lifted 114kg in snatch and 154Kg in clean and jerk in second attempt and did not even try his third attempt. I believe he could have done much better had he not injured his back earlier this year in Japan. Nepal could win medals one day in Olympic if we invest our resources and develop the sports infrastructure from now on. To win medals one day in Olympic, we must create social and economic environment in Nepal for our atheletes, who can pursue sports not only as a career but also a venue to bring glory and fortune. Let's hope it's the start of begining in sports arena for prospective Nepalese atheletes. I think so.
