Please advise me on SAP/ERP training. Lot of guys are saying : SAP market is down, and it's hard to learn and get certification in SAP ( Costlier too). Is it a good idea to jump into SAP at this time?

SAP is always ood, see you need to work hard to get a job and cover all the modules in SAP.
netWeaver has good market , which also has a part with Java.. Are you looking for a techinical or functional side, functional will be easy.
Functional SAP FI-CO has good openings.
PLM systems have good demand and BA in PLM with ERP has billing rates from 70- 1XX rate.
Most of the company in US now now have increased there budget for IT from 20% to 50%, which had more scopes.

functional jobs dont require coding. SQL u will get jobs even at the entry level but the pay for sql is pretty less.
