Hey guys n' gals, do you know how much bank statment must be shown for mum and dad to come for graduation ceremony? Like what minimum amout is. Thanks!

My friend only sent invitation letter from university. His father had about 10 lakh on arub bank or some foreign bank forgot the name and they got visa. I had another friend he send bank statement with 10K but they didn't get visa.

Another case, one guy who is green card holder, having baby on last Dec and they had bank balance of 50k but their parents didn't get visa at first attempt. They sent all doc like letter from doctor and everything but visa was rejected. They tried again and got in second attempt.

You never know. For my case, My mom didn't get visa when I invited her for my graduation but when I invote her for my sons first birthday they gave visa. Only thing I send was $3900 bank balance + my two paystuffs and my letter nothing else.

Really you never know, I don't know what exactly they look for.

Bank balance from here or from Nepal to show that you've enough money to cover for airfare and travel expenses. But invitation from your international students office for graduation for sure. Good luck!

but i have a question, i graduated in december. I am working on EAD through company sponsorship for green card. do my parents have to explain this.

I graduated a year ago
My parents never had to show any bank statement or property thing.
They just showed the letter that my University had sent them

You must be enrolled in a good and reputed college. I think.

any input on property valuation guys? Does this have to be done? What's best proof for ties to Nepal? I'm haveing different thought.

i am not sure about others. in my case, i sent bank balance of about $9000.00 (nine thousand dollars) from my account here in usa along with my two recent pay stubs.  my parents did nt show any bank balance as i mentioned in my letter that i will take care of their expenses including plane fair. they were granted visa easily. 

My experience is do not show any documents except invitation letterstating your parent visit wil not add any financial burden to you.

3 different time my family menber got visa to visit us when we were in graduate school(mom, brother, inlaws)

It is their job to ask bank statement etc....not your. If you add more documents that shows you are inconfident and easy for them to reject. Let them review by your letter and ask aditional documents.
