Hi Nepali bandhuharu, My parents are planning to come to the US by the end of April or on the 1st or 2nd or 3rd of May, 2009. We are located in New York and would like to know if any educated Nepali is coming in NY or DC or the states nearby.

My parents do NOT know English, and it would be very helpful if I could find some one with whom they could accompany. Please let us know, if possible.

They have not yet booked the air-tickets, and we would try to get the tickets for the same planes if we could know our potential supporter's itinerary.
With sincere regards,
Sakuntala Sharma

Dear nagios, Many thanks for the information. Chicago might be little further unless we take a trip over there and then board another plane too NY/CT/Boston. Good option, though, and thanks again. Could you please drop a line to my email so that we could stay in touch in case we need this support. Here is the email: sharmasakuntala@yahoo.com
Thank you again.
Best,
SS

My mom will be coming around mid-may. She will probably book a flight for Newark, NJ which is not that far from NYC. She's traveled before and would be more than willing to help. Let me know if that works.

ask ur parents to go to the travel agency or air lines in kathmandu so that they will know if any body is comming via that root and ask that agency to book the ticket on the same day as those nepali people will come.i think this will help much better.good luck.

Bharia ir right.
Samething I did for my mom. We requested a travel agent (forgot the name) to find someone who is going to DC and we will buy the ticket at the same time. There were new couple with DV and they were happy to bring my mom since they didn't know that many people here. Now, they are good friend here with us too. So, they will help you to find someone there either student or any other people.

Good Luck !!!

There is other way... actually it works.

While booking ticket, mention that your parents need wheel chair.. (it does not cost extra money). Thats it!

And your parents will arrive here without having to speak one single word .. they dont need to walk one single step.. At every terminal, there will be someone standing at the door of plane with transport tool, and they will be taken to another plane.. everything is taken care. It is like urgent Fedex delivery system..

It works. Some of my friends have done this trick to bring their parents here.
