Hi all borthers and sisters.. I am in a bad condition. I came US in spring 2009. Due to no money for the college, i couldnt go back to my college. I came to city in summer, searched for job everywhere but couldnt fine one until it was too late. I got a work only after my college was already reopened. So i couldnt pay for that. I think i am out of status now. But i want to continue my study as i have some money now (by working and collecting) for my study. Is it possible that i can regain my status? If yes, what should i do? I came here to study and i want to study. Please advice me if you have any idea about this. I will be always greatful to you all.. Hope somebody will help me in this bad condtion.. Thanks in advance..

Its always better to see the international student advisor when in F-1 status. They have a wide range of solutions and chances are youy SEVIS may not have been cancelled. You can also ask them for payment plan etc. If the SEVIS has already been cancelled, the school can still issue a new I-20 for reinstatement.

khatechor: Go and talk to your International office as soon as possible. Just explain them honestly and truthfully your case. They might be able to help you. Don't wait a single day. One of my friend screwed up just like you many years ago, he was given a chance by international office and re-istsued 1-20. If you wait, you'll be late forever, take my words for it.

In Most of the cases, International office send the list of not enrolled international student after one month or so.So, go and talk to you international advisor. They will definately help you out. Donot say you worked offcampus and made some money. Say you just got the transfered money from your parents so they may be helpful for you.

just as suggestions for those who think that they might not be able to pay for their school and are planning to take off. the financial stress is hard to handle. in that case before you stop going to school ask for a medical leave from your school because you are emotionally not able to cope with the situation. this is enough to get approved for medical leave. do this and you will be in status for quite a while, but don't know how long though.
